Audio Technica AD-1000x vs AKG K702

Hey all,

I am new to high end audio and was wondering what everyone thought about these two sets of headphones. I will mainly use them for listening to all types of music (rock, metal, hip-hop, dubstep, pop, etc) as well as for gaming.

Which one better suits my needs?

I too have been looking at the AKG 7XX series verses the AD1000X, for my next headphone.

I would think the AKG might be a little more demanding headphone amplifier wise.

Never heard the AD-1000x.

The AKG K701 has nice sparkly highs, wide soundstage, good mids, but the bass can be lacking on some songs. That's where an amp with bass boost like the M³ comes in handy. Can't really complain about it.

I hope someone here has an answer.

Need more in depth AD1000x reviews.
