Voices sound... tinny on my setup on Blu-ray disks.

I'm using a Panasonic DMP-BDT320 as a source for my audio setup (I know, an optical video disc player isn't the best source) going through an optical Toslink cable to a NuForce Icon HDP and AKG K702. I played a movie on it, and while the soundtrack sounded more or less as good as CD, character dialogue sounded extremely tinny. What can cause this? I'm so disappointed.

In the Panasonic's setup, make sure it's set for PCM and you might have to set Downmix to 2-channel.

Thanks for the reply. I just checked my settings, and they are already set like that.

Are you sure b your setup is to blame ? I've just finished watching the first two Star Wars films on blu ray (IV and V) and thought dialogue in the first one sounded a lot more tinny than it did in the second, while in both case the score sounded fine. My setup (an HDP through an Atoll amp and Dali speakers) had, of course, not changed in the meantime.
