FS: Partially completed top tier M^3 amplifier with S11 PSU (PRICE DROP!)
Will Ship To: Anywhere
Alright, This project has been sitting on its own due to my busy schedule, and I'm going to let it go to someone who can finish it off and get it running.
The build is an M^3 amplifier with vishay resistors, gold tune nichicon capacitors, gain knob, etc.
The case is brushed aluminum, with mounts for the headphone jack, potentiometers, power button and a pinhole for the LED.
The power button and LED are mounted on a machined aluminum bracket inside the case.
The power button is a vintage Marantz type, and will include the cover.
The Transformer is a 24v/110v transformer.
The rear panel is wired for 110v with fuse protector and ground pin, as well as 3 RCA sets. 2 are in parallel, allowing for the use of an input as well as a bypass to a separate pre-amplifier, the other is currently unutilized, but could be wired for a preamp output
As far as how far along the project is:
I assembled it, plugged it in, and it didn't work. I'm pretty sure I know why:
Power board: On the power board, the main supply caps are backwards. Replace them (the right way) and all should be good, since a PSC short shouldn't cause any damage to downstream components.
Analog board: Smoked the ground channel mosfets during testing. I think the bourns multiturn potentiometers stripped and bottomed out, resulting in overbiasing the mosfets. I know debugging someone else's project is a bit of a pain, but that's why the price is so low as to the components involved (I think I've got over $400 in this build)
Pics included, sold as is (with any additional spares I can scrounge up, I have a full box of additional parts) and price is Or Best Offer. Feel free to shoot me a message.
