And for the record the Michael Jackson wasn't mine... but I did enjoy listening to it out of the Dark Star!  :p

You are welcome, I hope people enjoyed my music out of the WA7 as much as I did!!!

I saw a lot of my fellow heafiers leaving with a Mad Dog Box from the meet. I started a first impression thread and I'd like to invite everyone who has a shiny new pair of Mad Dogs to contribute.

Ah so that was a Bottlehead! Was it the Crack? If so that's the exact combo I've had in mind! You are a rock star cool.gif

I don't think I saw anyone actually putting it down like that...I just couldn't think of what else to call it tongue.gif It was really nice, I'm no expert but it tasted smooth but still spicy to me.  You are very generous biggrin.gif

It was a great meet and really good turnout.

The highlights for me were:

purin's setup: the liquid gold & the abyss

Eddie Current: the first setup closest to the door.  believe was Stax 007

the LCD-3 that was on the tranquility base.

R10 hooked to the DNA amp

They all do different things but it's liquid smooth sound each had that makes the headphone melt away.

On that note, I'm probably not going to do another LA meet.  Drove up from San Diego and spent much more time on the road than at the meet.  Just hate LA traffic.  I know people traveled much further but I'll just wait for the next San Diego meet.

Glad people enjoyed my L3000 Leatherheads.

Yeah, I have the Bottlehead Crack with Speedball upgrade.  Glad you liked the Crack + HD600 pairing!

No worries re: the Lismore.  I think people bring their favorite Scotch for the same reason that people bring their Headphone rigs; they want people to enjoy the same stuff they do.

I feel your pain.

South 405 at 5:00 pm was no fun.

I happened to have a carpool dummy that made it tollerable.

Ha-Ha! LOL! Seriously???

I was feeling a lot of pain too at that time on the South 405. No dummy for me.

Just abundant Mad Max tactics and lots of waiting in a sea of cars that stretched for miles.

So.....

You're one of "those"

Cuz, I'm an old fart that drives 70 mph in the car pool lane.

No music.

Hands at 10 and 2.

My neighbor played the roll of the dummy.

I was hoping you would be there so I could see what you've been cooking up lately. The stuff you put together is always a testament that we don't need to spend a lot of money for good sound.

P.S.

Thanks Ethan, Warren, (and all the other guys who helped) for putting this together.

It was great seeing everyone at the meet on Saturday! Thanks to everyone who came to the meet and to check out the Astell&Kern line of products. It was a first time attending a Head-Fi meet for us too and had a blast sharing the AK100 and AK120 with all of the Head-Fi'ers.

It's always nice connecting with the community who truly understands the need for portable hi-fi audio. We can't wait to do it again! Perhaps a winter meet should be in order???

Edit: Thanks to Warren, Ethan, Jude, Tyll, and everyone who made the meet the best it could possibly be!

So sorry you had to experience more of the impossible LA traffic - but SO glad you got to make it!!

and psyched you enjoyed the ALO Studio Six/Audeze/Synergistic Research set-up!!

I was hesitant to being the Tranquility Base - but my boys convinced me after hearing it under the amp!

Was a GREAT time.

Just saw a pix of your Tranquility Base; became intrigued. Which model do you have? I take it the Tranquility in your system has brought you... (don't make me say it rolleyes.gif). I'd like to enjoy this quality inside my listening room as well. Hope to hear one soon. The Cable Co, perhaps? biggrin.gif

Although I could not make the meet, I feel bad about your drive from LoCal to SoCal. Personally, I'm hoping to make one of your meets in SD/Coronado. Wonderful pix from the last meet!
