Workout IEMs Monster iSport Livestrong vs Sennheiser CX 685

Thread Starter

I'm open to other suggestions.

In short, I'm looking for a pair of sturdy and sweat-proof IEMs to work out in. I'll most likely be doing lifting, running, and rock climbing with them. I'm looking for the best build/sound quality ratio. I realize something will give and I'd prefer build quality to amazing sound. From the reviews I've read it looks like the Monster (barf) has better sound quality while the Sennheiser looks to be a bit more sturdy. I looked at the MEE S6 but a lot of reviewers seem to bemoan the build quality. I'll be using my Samsung Galaxy Nexus or maybe even Nexus S as a source while listening to more bass heavy music (hip hop, instrumentals, etc.)

Thanks!

If you like bass heavy music go for the sennheiser cx 685, they have nice sound with a slight bass preference they fit nicely and wont fall out for sure and they are damn comfy smily_headphones1.gif furthermore they are sweatproof. The monster probably overpower the bass and well yeah monster...

I have the Monster iSport, which I bought for treadmill use, and I actually don't like them a bit. Compared to my UE 700, Phiaton PS 20 and even my Sony MDR-ED12LP their sound is really sharp and have no bass. Even worse, after awhile the plastic pieces that are supposed to keep them in the ear start to get soft and they keep falling.

I still don't know which phones to buy to replace them. Hope cx 685 are better.
