I have a pair of M500s and are enjoying them quite a bit. It's true the isolation is not the best for things like flights, but sometimes I think it is useful to not have complete isolation for urban walking and things like that so I can hear traffic lights beeps, cars, and bicycles coming from behind!

That's a very good point.

i own the m500 and the nad viso. whileni like the more refind and neutral sound of the nad, i find the m500 more open sounding. the nad lacks transparency and sounds a little bit too thick for my taste. as my near perfect headphone at home is the k702, i wonder if the h6 would be the safest bet for me as a portable.

I think H6 would be right up your alley. Also the Spirit Pros are okay too.

Agreed, if you're looking for a more "open" sounding portable, closed headphone, the H6s are that. FWIW, while the M500s had good imaging for on-ears, they were still a few steps behind some of the top cans here to my ears.

+1 for the H6! Great headphone for portable listening but you may feel like dumping like the K702 xP

well, i do not believe, that any closed will have the same resolution, layering in depth and separation as the k702

Indeed but the H6 can be slightly different from other closed headphones IMO. I definitely prefer my Annie over it but they isolate much better than Annie making it a stronger pick for portable use and it does not need an amp. I can live with either of these two.

I honestly wouldn't say the K701 is that great in terms of resolution. It's just bright.

Hi @MacedonianHero! Hopefully you give your Mikros 90's at least 70 hours of burn in before evaluating them. Almost everyone in the Mikros 90 thread has noticed a difference, including @bhazard who isn't a firm believer in burn in:

Didn't someone from here loan him the Mikros? I would assume they're burned in.

Right. Hopefully so.

Sorry, that's not what this thread is about. :o It's about closed portable headphones. Yes, the K702s do some things better, but at the same time, they do have some fatal flaws for me (like the mids).

Yep, Beagle sent them to me for an extended loan. I do really appreciate his generosity...and they have sufficient hours behind them according to Dave. I will be adding them and the Monster DNA over-ears shortly.
