I have no bias either way. Just loving my time with the uerm.....

You should try the custom UERM than. It should have better bass impact as well as isolation.

No problem. Just thought that if anybody loves the universal UERM, they should try the custom version.

After further listening, I am baffled that the FR graphs are so similar. Both phones seem to have a similar soundstage presentation, but to my ears the UERM sounds much more extended in the highs and lows than the TFRM.

That just means that the difference you're hearing is something else, not the extension.

And that is why he is baffled.

Or the acoustics of his ear canals are different from the dummy ear

Now that I observe the UERM carefully, I think the huge sound stage is due to the acoustic "chamber", or where the mid/treble acoustic tubes meet and mix.

Hm. I don't get the sense that the space is huge, just very well defined and coherent. The actual size is more or less typical of custom/custom shaped universals.

Coherency is the key here. They are capable of sounding huge. Once a song reaches its climax and sound stage explodes, UERM manages to sound coherent and real while most other iems I've heard feels like there is a sense of limited space.

Right, but I mean a lot of iems in that performance tier are capable of something similar, with the 1plus2 surpassing it. The draw of the UERM for me is its technical ability, without sounding forced.

Another way of saying what kimvictor is saying?

Just popping in for a quick thanks to everyone who posted their feedback so far. And since it's been asked, this is indeed a generic UERM version on tour, not a reshell. My UERM customs are even slightly larger than this demo unit.

Kudos to you for this tour! Although I'm not part of this tour, it was very nice of you to allow people to try your UERM and TFRM.
