Finally time for me to show off my my 8.As. I opted for the Wizard option with a (not so) simple request: I wanted to have my initials done with a wood inlay. I asked and the Wizard said that it was possible, so I sent two sets of impressions off (you can never be too careful!) and some simple guidance for what I wanted.
The design that my loving and patient fiancée came up with for me (as I can't do anything remotely artistic myself):

What I got from Heir:
Overall, I am extremely happy with how they turned out. I have a red canal for the right side and a blue canal for the left side, and the shell is (as far as I can tell) translucent smoke. It's a little bit hard to tell in these pictures, but the Wizard accommodated my requests perfectly! There's a dark wood piece in the background and a lighter wood piece that makes up the letters. I was a little worried when I first saw these pictures that the dark wood wouldn't be noticeable, but it really jumps out as a textured coffee-brown when the light hits it. It's very well executed, and it fits exactly what I wanted.
I've been meaning to take some close ups of the faceplates in the right light to really show off the detail. To me, these look just as good as they sound, and that's pretty darn nice!
