Yes and no.
 
The 'Browse Files' section allows you to 'make' your own playlists on the computer in that sense. Butt there is no real function for that

Thanks for the info. No m3u playlist support means I'll have to pass.

Do you know if the x5 is slated to have the functionality I need? (Sorry for the OT)

I've recently bought v-moda m100 (Or rather ordered) and I'm thinking about getting a new mobile setup, how would the x3 pair with them? Anything I should be aware of about the player? What's the best deal available? Is there any other setup that would offer a better deal? Tips of battery pack to go with the player (I read that the current battery time is short, which could be an issue...)

Battery pack? Any power bank with the USB that X3 uses(mini B USB I believe) should be fine.

Nice link - I bought one yesterday for $139 - then I looked today and plugged in Fiio X3 and their price came up $199 - but that link still has the lower price - anyone who wants one should pull the trigger.

I copied the link from slickdeals and didn't realize that it had an affiliate address tagged onto it when I copied it. I have since removed the affiliate address from my posts.

No problem bowei006,...all good my friend. It basically gets you to the site,...
 
I've had "issues" with Adorama Camera before, I even filed a complaint with PayPal against them. They charged me for a Sharp iPod boombox that was supposed to be in stock. I then found out it was back-ordered indefinitely,... PayPal got my refund for me!!!

So just making sure I understand this correctly - there are no playlists, only folders in which you dump files. So if you wanted to make a workout playlist that happens to have the same song as a dance playlist, you'd have to make two folders (appropriately named) and put the file in each folder, yes?

Sad that had to happen. I am a bit weirded when I read a huge sign on an ad that says no back order. I always think that is to be expected if they have it for sale, but situations like yours remind me why those are selling pionts.

There is the 'favorites' section but that is not very useful as a playlist. IT's basically ''one' playlist in a sense. 
 
I'm hoping the X5 has more functionality like of what you are saying.

Meh,...I was going to order it and use it to play albums & shuffle all. Now, since I can't order on a whim,...I'm OUT!!! I'll wait for the X5 to hit. And just enjoy my new Note 3 when it arrives on Monday!!!
