Microsoft doesn't help, either. I've been reformatting SDXC cards to FAT32 well before I had the X3. It's trivial on linux, easy on Mac (with a bit of background knowledge) but AFAICT you need a third party program to do it on Windows. Most devices won't do it natively and don't even admit to supporting it even though I have yet to come across a device that won't accept a correctly formatted 64GB card despite only stating 32GB support.

Is there a secret on a Mac other than going to Disk Utility, selecting FAT32 and formatting?

Thank you

That presumably excludes it from use with the upcoming E18 which is USB digital in - only?

No other secret. That's the way to do it. Or at least, that's the way I do it and is the way I was referring to.

That is indeed one way

I don't know enough about actual inputs and outputs on E18 to know.

Obviously you could get a Digital Coaxial to USB adapter to use X3 with E18 but that's kinda pointless.

Well, then my player is definitely having problems. 2 separate cards - neither indexes in the library. I can only see files in Folder View.vvvWhich is a magnificent pain in the rear when it comes to classical music.

Which firmware version are you using? You probably need at least 1.31 (current latest)

You need to delete the library database. Contact support @ fiio to know how to do this.

Is there any part of my review you need help on?

I read that you were a Chinese student. I'd be happy to try and help simplify my review for you to understand if there is any part you need help on.

@bowei006: has a firmware update been issued that allows the usage of playlists? I haven't been following the x3 lately so I'm curious (I'm contemplating purchasing an x3).
