Sony MDR-7506 too dry? Suggestions?

Just wondering if you guys think the 7506 is too dry for general listening. I have them and like them, though sometimes they seem like they are a bit boring, really depends on the song. I am looking for maybe another recommendation. At this point I don't know how much I want to spend or if I even want to purchase another set of headphones. The following is the type of music I have generally been listening to lately:

Weezer

Pearl Jam

Cage the Elephant

Franz Ferdinand

Guns N' Roses

Led Zeppelin

Little People

Nirvana

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Rush

Stone Temple Pilots

The Strokes

I haven't had much opportunity to try other headphones out so I am not too sure what I would be looking for. Like I said I don't know what price range I would be in but I guess rule out anything over $300, lower would be better as long as too much isn't sacrificed. Easily driven, open would be good but closed would be fine.

Thanks

What are you using to drive the headphones?

Just off of my laptop which doesn't have anything super for a sound card. Sometimes my phone, but mostly laptop.

Audio Technica ATH-A900X closed headphones.

They are only 38-Ohms, should be easy for the phone to drive.

Digbuy is selling them for $200.

Best closed headphones (and I've heard quite a few) under $300 are:

KEF M500
PSB M4U 1
ATH WS99

And if on a budget at around $170, get the focal spirit one.
