I am new to here, And I love Music.

I have an ASUS Xonar DGX at the moment and looking for a headphone to use with is,

My Uncle told me that he is going to buy the PHILIPS SHL4500 for me as a gift and said he can buy any headphone in that price range.

Is that philips SHL4500 a good headset use with asus xinar dgx for music listening?

Can it give quality sound?

So I need help from you guys to choose a better one,

Please! help me soon.

For $50 the Philips SHL4500 might be decent, but for that price range I would think about a Samson SR850 (made by Superlux)

or a Superlux HD681.

The Xonar DGX is a very decent sound card.

It headphone amplifier is fine for headphones up to around 150-Ohms.

Both the SR850 and HD681 are 32-Ohm.

For around $16, you can buy generic Velour ear pads for them, off eBay.

Same size ear pads as the ones that fit the AKG K240/241/270/271 headphones.

Thank you very much for every thing guys,

I will tell it to my uncle,

But I am from Sri lanka so here we do not have much choices for almost every thing like these,

So can you please give me some clear idea on that Philips SHL4500 head phone , Please.

Here we have only sennheiser and Koss as best audio head phone brands , as I know up to now ,

Can you suggest me a head phone from those two brands,

What about corsair 1300 is it better than that Philips one? (corsair 1300 also available here).

Any Ideas on Corsair  1300.

Is this corsair 1300 better than that philips shl4500?

Are there any available KOSS or Sennheiser head phones better than that philips shl4500 to suit my budget ?

At $50, not a whole lot of differences between headphones.

It might help if you can list every model you have access to buying.

The best headphones for the money lie just a tad above your level.  Sennheiser's HD 280 Pro's use the same drivers they designed for audiology testing headphones.  Frequency response is something like 8Hz to 26000Hz plus/minus 1db. Last I looked they went for about $99.  You will hear things, especially in good 'live' recordings, that you never heard before.  Rated at 64 ohms.

Very sorry for the late response guys,
I had an exam last three weeks.

As "magyar666" said I will search for Sennheiser HD280 Pro first,
(Here in SL we have Sennheiser but do not know for sure, weather Sennheiser agents bringing down this specific model)

If I unable to find that, I will come here again with all choices available for my budget.

Thank you so much guys for helping me.
And sorry again for my late response.

Thanks.
