The LP's fit this category, and most other average people judge sound by bass so I think they'll fit my specific situation perfectly.

Why do you care what others think? Do YOU like dat bass? Grow a pair and be cool instead of trying so hard to fit it. It won't work aka you're doing it wrong. Free tip: girls like guys that are different - unless you are trying to score with the cheerleaders. Then you need to make a thread on which football to buy.

Seriously, did you actually buy anything yet? Page 7 of this thread, which is not about headphones at all...

The three vents that are on the lower section of either side panel. Visible in any of the product shots but more easily seen in the lighter colored ones. V-Moda has some kind of hilarious marketing-speak name for them.

I just want a durable pair of headphones that don't get criticized in public. Sorry I'm sensitive to stuff like that. I do like bass, and I said I was gonna listen to dubstep with these, so can you stop hating me? If you despise me that much for trying to look good instead of different then get off the thread. I don't need anyone else to think I'm cool I have enough of that. I'm not trying to score girls I've been dating one girl for 2 years now.

Yes i ordered them on Saturday, it's not my fault this thread is still alive.

No hate here at all man. If someone would criticize any of my headphones in public I'd smile and show them the finger.

Don't take everything I wrote so literally, just trying to get you to not give a fawk about others opinions. But I guess you are who you are and care about stuff like that, something I can never understand.

So sorry if I came across rude man, report back on the headphones when you have them!

The review? Sure why not, tell us how you like them! Makes for a good thread if it has an ending or something.

See the 3 little soft V lines? Those are vents to enhance the bass response. Those openings probably account for the sound leakage.

Oh, so those are bass ports? I thought the chevrons referred to the V-Moda logo or something. I never realized they served a more important purpose.

So maybe taking off the shields and covering those ports might soften the bass and reduce leakage?

Or would that just dampen or muffle the overall sound?

I have covered these with my fingers during usage. The sound gets very thin.
There's three vents on each side. These are nessesary, but they do cause some leakage.
Edit: dang, someone beat me to it. Not spamming, just slow Internet.

Maybe covering half of them.

Amazon said they'll be here tomorrow so..

They act as bass ports. They are basically required if you want bass. Partially covering them will definitely decrease bass.

That's the point since everyone seems to say the bass covers the highs and mids...
