...

but it does!! well compared to my iriver ifp-390t. when the volume is around 22/25 the bass starts to go crackly.

He's making a joke that the EX71s only output bass and nothing else.

I think he understood Austonia's point. Perhaps he meant that the Muvo2's amp clips at high volumes into his EX71s, most noticeably in the bass. Maybe "lacking" was a poor choice of words.

What is the EX71's input impedance anyway?

Odd thread, to say the least.

I agree that he's probably joking...unless he's a regular user of the "mega bass" feature

Ehehehe...... funny man you are..

pho_boi: do you mean you have the volume at 22 OUT OF 25? are you nuts? especially with earbuds... can you say distortion (no more EX71 jokes ). You aren't one of those people who emit "tish tish tish" sound on the train are you? (well ok ex71's cant... but i guess its possible) - What posseses you to have your music up so loud?

(of course if 22/25 means 22 or 25 out of (some bigger number) then disregard this post)

..

nah i wasnt joking, the bass does get very bad. compared to my sony mzr900 and my iriver ifp-390t, the bass is very weak. and when i get to around 20/25 volume it starts to distort and loses its "ommpf" kinda thing. i dont know how to explain it but it instead of hearing the bass drums i hear bassy snare drums. and the volume at 22/25 isnt all that loud. i think it might be my ex71 but i dont know. the music i mostly listen to is trance......please dont diss me. i am no audiophile and im not a COMPLETE bass addict and i do like an overall sound from the mids and the highs.

I'm really interested in getting one of these (£175 at Amazon unless any1 knows where I can get it cheaper?), but I'm slightly concerned about the LCD. Is it big enough to traverse 40~50 albums? Also what's so bad about the build quality?

I'm interested in this player... any recent reviews or impressions?

TIA

I have the MuVo 2 also and love it. It drives the Portapro's and the Px-100's nicely but since the HD-600's are high impedence they would a little more power to drive them correctly. Also, for your information the Muvo 2 has a equalizer in its menu system. Arrowmark

I've been using mine for 3 days. It's a keeper, but here are my initial complaints:

-I want more volume control sensitivity. Comfortable listening volume for me while at work is 1/25. It would be nice to see more settings between the loudness at 1/25 and completely off at 0/25. (Using ety er4p.)
-Navigation leaves much to be desired currently. My RioVolt SP90 has better navigation (and more buttons). It would be nice to see Creative provide a firmware update with "double tap" features into the buttons to get more functionality (i.e. prev/next folder).
-Inability to access the buttons while using the provided case is becoming a pet peeve. I don't mind so much not being able to see the LCD (yet). I don't want the extra "dangliness" of the $50 optional FM remote.

I can hardly hear my Muvo2 at 1/25 even late at night. I normally use 12/25 for comfortable listening. In fact, Euro users have complained about the lack of volume (EU rules). Maybe, there is a hardware or firmware problem with your device. Try a firmware upgrade.

BTW, I like the FM remote. I use it a lot for voice recording of lectures.

With the stock buds and firmware ver. 1.11 I can't hear half the instruments on a recording below 5~6/25. I don't know about the etys but the isolation coupled with your hearing probably give you better attenuation.
