making a tera player case how to make one on you're own guide - Page 2

after all the hard work of making a case for the tera player i reached the final conclusion,

you can't make one.

let me explain, you can make one but it will be rubbish,
if you make one from fabric it will look like a toy player with so many clips and thing's hanging on the side (for the hand grip sd card grip cable grip etc)

if you 3d print one it will cost you a small fortune, (100$ or so for 1 print in my country) and it will melt in the sun, so not so good.

and to add to all of this the players unique shape makes the work hundred times worse with the wide endings and slim middle part, the screws on the sides and etc

but for the good news, if you have the audeo headphones the case that comes with them is perfect for the player.
you have a place for the player, sd cards and headphones in there plus you can hold it with 2 fingers (just slide 2 fingers to the back holder and it will stay)

so just buy 400$ headphones and it will come with a case for the player, sd cards and headphones for "free"

Rubbish...
Go to any skilled seamstress lady and she can make a nice leather case like AK120 has.

I actually tried that with a skilled leather maker. If you do not make them industrially it is not so easy on such a small player. My case looks ok, but not great:

Well lether is a problem with the tera (or it won't be a good fit for the player) or if u make it slide from the side it won't Look as good, plus the top side will be way to thin with all the holes for the sd card and udb plug

And there is the screws that make it hard to be a good fit

The closest I got is a strach fabric but it just looks bad ( a bit too much bdsm like lol)

And I whent to the best tailor I could find but it's just dos not reach the Q of mass production ones and if it is a the price point of 50$ and more for one then it's not worth it

And again if I'll have orders of 150-250 owners I will be able to mass produce one purfect case with SD card place wrist band control functioning inthe case and Headphones wrap but that won't happen

Let's start voting and I believe we have more then 200 Tera owner who would want to purchase one from you if the price is right.
Put me on the list.

i just sent a pm to several manufacturers and waiting for an answer about the price for 5 and a price for 150 for each unit
i will open a kickstarter for the big 150 cases after i'll get a price offer (my guess is that it's going to be way cheaper) and finish the final details of the case (need to make a new one i deleted the old one)

so hang on and hopefully it will be around 15$ for 1, with the 150 peaces order, and around 50$-75$ for one, for the 5 peaces order.

and now for the waiting game, right now we have an order of 3 we need 147 more lol

If the case is well made and reasonably priced I'll buy one.

Cheers,

Andy.

BTW what is a reasonable price for you?

if it will cost me 50$ per one and 5$ shipment it will start at 70$ (i think 15$ is fair for me to take for all the hard work at a price of 50$ per one case to make)

70 USD is fine with me as long as it is a very well made.
I don't like flip cases and if will open like a book with pockets for SD is fine.
Also show as pictures before we purchase.

when i'll get one i'll take pic's and upload them but right now i only have a plan and waiting for some manufacture to give me an offer, i'll upload a 3d model when it will be ready, hopefully soon.

i can't say when i'll have an answer or when i'll upload the model (i'm working 12 hours a day) but it will come true some day, hopefully in the next month or so but that is wishful thinking

Sorry to opt out, but I like Tera with the "hard-used tank" look. Case adds another step to opening beer bottles, too. I've got little sleevies and boxies that fit, but just don't make the practical use, except perhaps to keep me from bumping buttons while I skateboard. It's a bummer to swap tracks on a perfect cruiser, you know...

What I could use is a slim sleeve to put 4 cards into. What I do right now is tape a standby to the back with high quality non gummy tape. If I found out the micro cards worked great, I might be able to get 4 taped onto the back. Still, a nice card holder which matched with Tera might be helpful.

Good luck with the case, and I'm glad you're getting it done. I just wanted you to know that for me it's all about utility.
