Running ABX tests on DX100?

 Hello,

I've just upgraded to a DX100 and was wondering if there's a way of running an ABX test directly on the player. I know I can't distinguish between lossless and V0 on my desktop, but it's a lower quality rig than the DX100 + ER-4P, so running a test on the player itself would be a good idea, if there's a way to do this. .

Thanks,

Boris.

Just enjoy the thing, why waste time & effort doing such things when it does its job.

Well, V0 has an almost 60% smaller file size vs FLAC, which means a lot more CDs on the player :-) If I could be convinced that I really can't hear the difference between the two (and I don't know of another way of doing it besides an ABX test).

You are already worried about the size, so stick with 320 mp3.

If you really want to, just take the same album (one in FLAC format and the other in 320mp3), load it into DX100 and hear the difference if any.

Well, the thing is, when I was doing the ABX tests on my desktop I 'thought' I could hear a difference betwee FLAC and V0, but the test results showed I actually couldn't. Hence the original question.

And mp3 320 are about 30-35% larger than V0, so if V0 is sufficient, I'd rather stick with that. (and we come to the same question again, as I'd need to run an ABX test to be convinced of that).

I don't think it is possible to hear any difference between V0 and 320.....320 is just a waste of space IMO.

No, no, I was meaning V0 vs FLAC.

In that case, I sure as hell can't hear the difference. There are a few people out there that can, but they are the minority, I think.

That's the very thing I'd want to try and see for myself...

Is there no way to do this then?..
