Awesome stuff  the headband is tops!

What brand coffee filters. For some reason that obvious solution passed me by looking for more complex solutions. I have a Denon D950 I need to replace the paper tape baffle holes on.
Filters I would imagine runall sort of porosities within reason according to brand.
 Melita?
No need to disclose secrets out in the open, can pm me. If you want to that is.

Who was crazy enough to break down a W5000? Or are those drivers separate order or something.

And also should mention that cable is amazing, could look at that all day, A problem, why yes I do have one thanks.

Yes the filters are made by Melitta! I didn't try any others or compare the ones I had to other brands because these worked perfectly.

And thanks! I made the cable as well. 3/16" techflex nylon multifilament, Mogami wire, and an Amphenol 3.5mm connector.

Awesome! Keep in mind that Techflex is just the brand, a lot of time people refer to this plastic type of sleeve as Techflex but it's only because Techflex is the company that makes it.

Techflex Nylon Multifilament on the top pencil
"Techflex" on the bottom pencil

Ok I finalized the DTW5000 build (haha wut?)

I made some custom baffles out of some .135" ABS plastic with 8 vents in them. The paper covering the vents is COFFEE FILTERS! It works great, and they are easy to find anywhere. Thanks BlueMonkeyFlyer for the suggestion. I had to drill out 3 more bass ports on the sides of the cups to tune them as close to the original W5000 as possible. The W5000 cups have grooves notched into them at the very edge to make bass ports, which is something I needed to create on the DT770 cups.

These sound as great as they look, I promise. So Beyer owners, when one of your drivers fail, be optimistic and make something a little more interesting out of your dead headphones.

1, 2, 3 additional bass ports making that 4 total per cup.

Soooo... When are you selling these so I can buy em from you? You KNOW they fit my color scheme perfectly. Haha.

Ha I don't know. You know I have an itch to try other things pretty often, but I am at least going to try to keep them through March so I can bring them to a meet here in Michigan.
