RealTek ALC892 or xonar DG for a CM Sirus S

Hello every one. I have a small query. I hope that you guys are kind enough to answer this.

I have a CM Sirus S headset. I am now running it with my onboard ALC892. I am not impressed by the performance of the cans. Audio playback particularly. I want to match it with a decent soundcard before I come to any conclusions. Now, I am thinking of getting a Xonar DG.

Please let me know if there will be any good noticeable improvement.

Thank you, everyone.

I went from a HD2 Prodigy soundcard to ALC898 and I feel it sounds like crap over speakers. Did not try headphones. Can't tell you for sure if there's noticeable improvement going with the Xonar but it costs just a few tenners doesn't it? Go for it I'd say.
