"baggies"?    I've been reading a LOT of VSD3x threads... definitely missed that post :)

I used shrink tube to address that issue as well however, mine has detachable cables.

+1, coz any visible physical abuse/damage (externally) ,might void the warranty claims.....otherwise it's perfectly ok, especially @ the jack end.

Well it's the same kinda cable as the GR06 that I've had for a few years now and it's fine, a little memory character, but less than most cables I've had. Failure point for my VSD3S was the connector to the housing. And the jack isn't too confidence inspiring either. I think if I were to get the current non-detachable cable version, it would last me a few months and probably start cutting out on the jack-side, which is disappointing because I take good care of my IEMs. It's just that straight jacks with no strain relief aren't going to last very long connected to my iPod in my jean pockets.

Also, lol, they think YOU'RE crazy? Good thing my parents don't know I walk around campus every day with $400 hanging from my ears.

Part of my mind is totally in agreement that the $400 IEMs I walk around with is just absolutely insane, but the music lover side of me has done quite the job in suppressing that part haha

You lucky bastard Shawn! Haha, my RC set unfortunately lasted like 2 days before it started cutting out. I got them from Penon Audio and sent it back to get a swap for the Havi B3 Pro I and didn't really look back. Are the VSD3S bad? Unless you've got something wrong with your hearing, they're far from bad. In SQ, I think they're easily one of the heavy hitters in their price bracket.

 ....yeah there are many users like me who bought it from LMUE (Pre-order) and still they are ok.....may be some wld've claimed their warranty due to sound cuts on the connectors or jack ends who knows?....but you were right, the jack end is a serious threat w/o strain reliefs no matter it's first / second batch RC ones or the current non-detachable cable ones.....

If you are asking me, Yes, you probably looking at SGD instead of USD......now it's $38.46 ($1 save) for a grey VSD3 N-D,green,pink versions due to currency fluctuation....

But you cld save $11.50 buying N-D ones and hopefully no sound cuts but just to be careful on the 3.5mm jack end....Also, the detachables ones are available only with Red or Blue 3S priced @$50 atm :(.....not sure what color/Model you lookin on detachable ones tho.

edit:> Did you miss the pre-ordering VSD2/2S to get the AN16, 2 mos ago?...

Yeah, that jack is a menace. Zero strain relief does not make me a happy person especially on a straight jack. In my opinion, they used to be terminated in a much nicer right angle jack on the old GR06 and GR07. My GR06 is still going strong for me 3 years later. Now they seem to have just gone for shininess and called it a day.
