Taobao is legit, it is like a mix between amazon and ebay in China and only services China but with a forwarding service like mistertao one outside of China can get a hold of taobao products. But can get burned on taobao. I ordered a pair of ba-100 on taobao using mistertao couple of months ago and guy listing it said it was legit and it looked legit but only thing sketch was the super low price. When I finally got them I did see that the pictures on the listing did not match reality and I actually got a pre-production model which sounded... like crap.

That being said I have gone ahead and pulled he trigger on the Vivo XE800 and I shall eagerly wait for them now.

They were supposed to sound like the Westone 4R. I would say they sound slightly V shaped. An upgrade for you should solve the graininess that I hear in my pair.

Just received my vsd3s + havi b3 pro i.

Quick impression on vsd3s :-

The build quality looks good. The box is small and low on accessories.Very unlike vsonic but I guess they had to do some cost cutting after including the removable cable on vsd3s.I got the red-blue version and it looks killer.

At first listen they sounded very distant like there was a veil or something obstructing the sound. But after 10-20 mins I thinks they are back to normal. The bass is sooooo deep.Like you can feel it.

If anyone wants gr07be like sound for cheap get this right now. There's sibilance similar or more compared to gr07be.Not sure. You can notice it.Hope its gets fixed with burn in.The diff between this and gr07be is that gr07be does everything better but after listening to vsd3s I doubt getting gr07be is worth it since there are like hints of improvements. Most beginners won't notice them.Gr07be provides better tighter bass, can keep up with fast complex songs, better mid clarity, better separation, etc. On vsd3s, it gets messy went it gets quick like really really fast metal really sounds muddy compared to gr07be.

Soundstage looks good for now.Need more testing.

Isolation is little above average like vsd1.Comfort is top notch better than gr07be.

So this it from me for now.

Anyone got any improvements with burn-in ?

I would recommend them to anyone only if the sibilance dies down.Maybe tip rolling will work. Will update later.

Cheers !

Slight V shape, with a bit of a warm tilt, but not what I'd necessarily call a warm IEM. The treble is too bright for that. I think I called it somewhere between balanced and warm. If you go by ClieOS frequency examples it'd be a balanced sound. Very good soundstage and great imaging and layering. So I guess you want a neutral to warm IEM with good soundstage and separation and a slightly bright treble?

Most people, me included, said the treble dies down a little, and is smoother for a Vsonic IEM (I still find it a little bright). I considered it more brain in than burn in. Try things like the stock bi-flange if they fit, the foams, Sony Hybrids, or MeElec M6 tips. All of those bring the mids forward and darken the treble a bit while sacrificing some detail. Also, take care when you tip roll because one member had the lip of their nozzle pop off.

Does anyone have opinions between the VSD 3S and the JVC HA-FXD80-Z? I'm trying to get new IEM/earphones for under $70 and any advice is appreciated. Both look fantastic to me

IMHO one thing for sure - if you're coming from neutral headphones, these will sound not as bright.

Lol I am in such a dilemma.

I loved both vsd3s + havi b3 pro i

What I didnt like was :-

vsd3s - SIBILANCE. Screwing the whole experience.

b3 pro i - comfort.Cant listen more than 30 mins.

If only I could combine the best of both iems and get a Vsonic vsB3s pro i !

The vsd3s improved with time for sure. I complained about the same and now I'm perfectly happy with them.

As with most vsonics it's mostly an issue if you are extremely sensitive to sibilance or just like to push the volume up as IMO they are mainly tuned for listening at moderate volume.

Get jvc as its hard to get by (mostly japan import) but 3s anytime for min 1 year and vsd7 is expected in about a month or two.....it shd be better than 3s and side/upgrade to gr07s....they are one of the best single micro dynamic IEMs imo.
