May be you can cut a small (say half of 1/4"? May be) pieces from less density foam/sponge and fill the nozzle on both ear-pieces.....just try out to see if thay works for you else you can remove them whenever you want,as its reversible. Sure there will be a change in SS,like treble controlled etc...

And btw if you replace it in a pouch/case after use safely and chk for the tips (for any wax deposited) the iem needs no further attention......

I just saw your comments, and yes that was exactly what happened lol But it came out way too easy, I am sure there was a crack already but smhw I made it worst.

I guess they had to cut corners somewhere to keep the price down :D

A Howard Stern fan in Vietnam?  So how many times have you watch his Birthday Bash Video already? :p

I'm HS diehard fan, can't imagine my morning drive to work without listening to his show... and then listening 2nd time on a way back from work.

Bababooey to you too!

What's tip rolling? And what are the pieces shown in the recent photo? Is the grey circle called a filter?

Tip rolling is when you experiment with different ear tips, not necessarily ones of the manufacturer of your IEM.

So, I couldn't wait.

I snuck out of the office and grabbed my vsd3s and penon iem from my mailbox.

I'm immediately impressed. They have far more bass than from what I pictured after reading the impressions on this thread. To think the vsd3 has more I could almost imagine it being overkill.

I know what I'm doing tonight, listening to my new toy and relaxing.

There's so much stuff coming out that's ridiculously good and under $100. Good times...

So far it seems like a refined tuning of the gr07 BE with better features. I look forward to comparing the two after putting 50 hours on these.

Head fi over and out.

Yep, but I'm American, not a local here. I watched it once - that was enough for me. The Sourshoes they played from the Dan Patrick show the other day was the funniest thing I've heard in awhile - his Gary impression is spot-on. I'm saying this with peace and love, the VSD3S is not up to snuff and will get tossed if you send it to me. Anyways, peace and love, peace and love.

Let the good times roll, man. Hope you'll compare them to some of your other recent purchases too.

the picture has "came apart" lip of the nozzle, the associated ear-piece and the round grill/mesh (some might call them wrongly filter which is not).....the grill to ptotect the driver and nozzle tube from wax deposit or any debris entering in.....If the same (grill) changes/alters the IEM's SS, when being removed or replaced, it may be called a filter tho...imo.

Yeah looks like to me as well.....the bonding was not properly dried before passing QA? Whatsoever this needs to addressed in time by Vsonic,seriously.....

They can really tune an iem as evidenced by the GR07, but they're rank amateurs when it comes to quality control.

I just received my VSD3S today and to be honest I'm not too impressed with it. The bass frequency sounds a little bloated so now I'm back to my old faithful GR07. In all fainess the VSD3S is only half the price of the GR07 so in other words...we get what we pay for ;)

These should not deter you guys from buying. It seemed that I was the only one affected by it. Making it one piece plastic will solve the problem. I thought upon auditioning it for a brief period out of the box, it sounded good. Was surprised that vsonic was able to tune it that good at that price with the features that it provided too.
Keep hyping them up guys, they deserve it.

Just started listening to my VSD3S today through X5 + E12 DIY, and I have to agree that the bass does seem more bloated/slower than I expected. Tried stock M single flange and double flange tips so far. Will try provided and/or real Comply tips tomorrow. I'm hoping the bass tightens up with some burn-in. Soundstage seems a bit cramped, as well. Could be my music - just listening to some old Black Sabbath.

On a side note, I gotta say the little pouch they include is just ridiculous. Better to just put in a note instructing the buyer to go purchase a tin of mints, empty it out, and refill with VSD3S than trust them to the provided soft pouch that won't even stay shut...
