LOL really? Yeah, innerfidelity, theheadphonelist and just a small head-fi thread, which I'm sure everyone has seen http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-318-iems-compared-narmoo-r1m-added-07-03-14-p-936

lol You know me - I'm not  a big fan of the hype and attracting too much attention. It's not a problem to do it but I like to keep things more grounded. And don't worry I'll compare the two tonight or tomorrow just for you

That's what you said couple of days ago.

Thanks meng, knew i can always count on ya'.

Traded my VSD1 LE for some Ostriches KC06s and was more than worth it.

Especially since my sources are weak and the damn LEs takes a good amount of power/juice to drive which kinda sucks/ needs to crank them pretty high to get the most outta' their sound. Not good for my hearing long terms wise. :basshead:

Don't worry I got you covered. And yeah, the LE is a bit harder to drive but what does this have to do with hearing loss?

Welp i dunno about you but i have to crank my venturecraft go-dap amp via my ipods to max/ almost max volume in order to get the most outta' their sound details wise, etc so i have to listen to them pretty loud. When i volume is lower they just don't sound right/ well driven so....

The Ostry KC06s on the other can even be driven straight from my weak sauce Nokia N9 phones internal amp to more than loud enough for all the details to come out not even on max volume. That phone can't even drive the regular VSD1, VC02, GR07 BEs to loud enough volumes to sound proper let along the VSD1 LEs. So hope you'll let us know how much power it takes to drive these VSD3/S as well to get a good idea of their impedance etc.

Thanks in advance!!! :beerchug:

Well, then probably the more laid back treble of the LE wasn't for you coz when someone pushes the volume so much that's usually because an area in the sound is not prominent enough for their tase no matter if its bass, mids or highs. Anyway, I'll compare it with vsd1 and le and tell you how much more or less power it needs in comparison. Or you can get a Noble iem - they are extremely easy to drive :D

Yeah in retrospect my initial "old man tuning" assessment of these VSD1 LEs was more accurate. haha Dat laid back treble SUCKSSSSS!!! : P

I can handle smooth treble such as the Sony MH1 though but the treble of the LEs just don't do it for me. Need more clarity and extension in my sound without it raping my ears with bright/harsh/sibilant highs tbh. Guess i am mo' of a clarity bass head without any of the mids/ treble missing which the Ostry very much satisfies but i can always use a bit more sub bass depth. :  )

Welp you got the right idea there best for you to just hand over those Nobles that you won from the guesstimation contest. Congrats btw you lucky devil you. So jelly. :beerchug:

I want some noble lovin' as well. T_T

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Not really probably don't care for that bass sissy overrated flat "reference" sound anyways.

Well mh1's treble is also laid back but it extends better on top while the LE's rolls off a bit early, which makes it darker sounding. And nah, you're just super jelly about that magical N6 with magical Wizard powers both on the inside and on the outside. :D And the N4 and PR are the reference models.

You know very well "nah" has been copyrighted by me but this time I'll let it slip. Anyway, don't worry, as soon as I get the N6 I'll send you a PM with pics and will tell you all about it, so at least you'll be able to imagine how $1200 sound through my words. Now that will be some major trolling :D

edit: the LE is in my ears, so expect a short comparison in about an hour or so.

Nah, I can't sue your ass anywhere. And why would you want my address - it will cost you north of $1k to pay me a visit and return, so you're better of just buying one yourself :p

Anyway, here's the VSD3S vs VSD1LE comparison I promised you:

LE's bass is a bit heavier and with more solid body. VSD3S' mids are a bit more V-shaped and more neutral in tone. LE has a touch ticker note presentation and slightly warmer and darker. VSD3S has smoother and more relaxed lower treble in comparison to the LE which is a bit hotter and more aggressive. Both are less prone to pointing out sibilance than most vsonics.  VSD3S' highs extend a lot better while after the peak in the lower treble the LE's highs remain more laid back and roll off earlier, which makes it lose air on top and become a bit dark. VSD3S sounds more spacious and airy. Presentation-wise the VSD3S manages to do what the LE did right by having darker background but also manages to sound more spacious than it. Positioning-wise I'll say they are about equal, which isn't a bad thing as the LE was pretty good in that regard. Overall, the VSD3S is more relaxed and laid back sounding with more neutral tone, smoother and more extended treble and bigger soundstage. I even went through the Ultimate Headphone Demonstration Disc in hi-rez just for my favorite troll.

Sweet. I come back from a 4th of July party and find new comparisons. Thanks for the write ups, Kova, and I'm looking forward your thoughts against the VSD1.
