What trend is that?  Buying a new product and selling it a week later?  This "trend" has been going on since Head-Fi has been in existence.  A lot of people want to try something out and a lot of times they can lose very little money if any selling it right away.

I wouldn't put much stock into that - a lot of folks with nice IEM collections want to see what Vsonic had up their sleeve - but a $37 IEM, even if it punches above its weight isn't going to take a whole lot of head-time away from a custom or high-end universal - it is curiosity.

At least it is in my case - I am not going to sell my V8 or 1p2 because the VSD3S sounds great - because it doesn't sound THAT great, by any means... So I will probably sell my set pretty soon as well.

It is not a negative reflection on the VSD3S

Yeah, you guys are probably right.  For some reason though I'm kinda expecting a let down when mine finally arrives.  Perhaps that won't be the case...

Edit: on second thought, how much of a let down could it be for $46?  Perhaps my expectations are too high...

Wow, I derailed the hype train. I just wanted people to have more realistic expectations but now everyone has super low expectations instead. LOL

As far as the quick selling - some people just like to keep only stuff they see themselves using. I personally just give most of the stuff I don't use to my friends or just keep in the collection for future reference. The VSD3S is super comfy, so I can totally see myself sleeping with it or using it for commuting on days I know I'll be drinking.

And I'm not really surprised shotgunshane is selling his vsd3s - he has very specific requirements and taste - I'm pretty sure he'll tell you the mh1 is much better and there's nothing wrong with that coz you can't argue with personal preference - it beats in arguments about sound quality 100% of the time.

Get well soon Kova4a! I'm looking forward towards more of your impressions!

I'l try to find the time for a short one tomorrow.

not a single comparison with a budget pair?

not one!!!

Rolling thumbs ;)

I don't know which budget IEM's you liked it compared to. I've compared it pretty thoroughly to the Havi B3 to which the VSD3S is techichally inferior. Also did shorter "straight to the point" comparisons to the AX-35 and Tenores to which I find the VSD3S to suit my preferences better but having about the same overall quality.

As soon as more people get them this thread will hopefully explode with comparsions.

Anyway, at some point I will get down to compare the vsd3s to the mh1 but I already know which one will be the winner in my book. And I don't think the mh1's bass not being neutral is the main problem - it's its speed coz its quite slow while the gr07 is one of the fastest dynamic driver iems in that department.

I never really cared for the MH1 either so an comparsion would be very biased.

I agree, Up to this date I've never have a cable go bad or get detsroyed, Sure, I see tha point in more sxpensive stuff but fir me it's of no or little value here.

It's supposed to be extremely bassy. Some guys in the disocery and chinese threads tried them a wile ago and were not impressed.

Maybe people were thinking that they`ll really be US$400 sounding IEMs for US$50.

I bought it thinking that they cold one of the best bang for the buck under US$80, maybe i was the only one

SGS doesn't like peaky treble, so the mentions of a peak at 10khz are death to his ears haha.

Yeah, I remembered that from when we couldn't agree on the noble 4 vs ety er4s, so assumed the exact same thing too.

Lol, people are figuring me out!

The vsd3s is pretty good- I do like it. But I like both the Tenore and KC06 more. The vsd3s has similar bass levels to the KC06 (from memory) with maybe a bit more deep bass. The vsd3s is pretty upfront too. It does have a treble lift at 6k and 9k. While not piercing or annoying, it's a little artificial sounding. You do get used to it after a while.

In fact the vsd3s reminds me of the TE-05. The Fostex has bigger bass and bigger treble, so I'd take the vsd3s over it. It doesn't really sound like a W4 but I guess it's in the 'ballpark' of its sig.

The ergonomics are fantastic and the cable is great. The housings are surprisingly large though- but no fit issues on them. I preferred mh1 tips on them.

Anyway, like kova4a mentions, I only keep things I think I'll use long term. I guess I'll patiently wait on the 7 or 9 series.

Well, that's weird. The treble isn't piercing or anything and if there is a peak at 6k I didn't notice it - might be because the vsd3s is actually smoother than most vsonics. I haven't run a frequency sweep but I'm pretty sure there's a deep probably around 3-4k . On the other hand, while  I have spent only like half an hour with the vsd3s that 9-10k peak hit me right away and I wouldn't call it a mild peak - the shimmer from the cymbal crashes was hitting me straight in the face.

The hell? Whatever happened to the supposed neutral reference sig? I remember Anax was really taken by the proto unit. God damn it. First the G-2, and now this. Hope Dale doesn't go and muck up Rockets now too :l

Well, tizz city is a bit strong. As usual I'm still not rushing to conclusion coz it could be tamed a bit after some burn-in and I'll have to play around with different tips and insertion depth.

Anyway, I thing I've done enough today to scare everyone away and lower the expectations to such a low point that now people are dreading the moment they'll receive their pre-orders :deadhorse:
