best headphones for all genres

Hello Everyone,

I would like to know what is the best headphone for all genres.  I like to listen to all genres especially jazz, electronic, rock and rap.  For me, what makes a good headphone is one that has lots of details and is overall pretty neutral and transparent.  This headphone needs to be somewhat efficient to drive (so not the he-6s).  The headphone that I purchase should be an audiophile headphone that has a max price of $1300 usd.  It will be mostly used at home however I do not mind sealed headphones.  I do not like IEMs.  Comfort on the headphones is not really something that I care about.

Thank you

Regarding my post above,

another option would be to purchase a couple cheaper audiophile headphones that are only good for certain genres.  In other words have cheap specific headphones that are used for a specific set of genres

I would say that the Audeze LCD-2 r.2 are good for your genres and you can get a nice aftermarket cable as well for $1300.

The lcd 2 are good along with the beyer t1. It depends on if you prefer bass over soundstage.

Yeah, but I wished that the t1s has a removable cable though.

Thanks but don't u think the LCD 2 rev 2 is a little picky with what amp it's matched with

And isn't the LCD 2 rev 2 more than 1300?

The Audezes are something like $995 in the US I think.

What do you think about the sig pros or the th600 or th900 headphones I've heard they are good with different genres

The Fostexs are only good if you want closed headphones. Same with the sig pros. What type of sound are you after exactly?

I don't really care about closed or open. I liked closed because I feel like I am closer to the music but I also really like open for a reason I can't really describe

Do the he-500s (hifiman) work with all genres too?
