Multi-armature CIEM...wow...so this is what I've been missing, huh?

I just got a pair of UM TF18's (Triple.Fi 10 + 3 drivers per side so six total) in trade here on the forums and wow...I am absolutely just floored by these things. Let me just say that I used to look at $800+ IEM's and thought, "There's no way they sound as good as they cost...I mean, $1000+ for ear buds? PLEASE!"...that was then. Now I can say I truly understand. I know that the TF18 is far from the best but after owning headphones like the Beyerdynamics T 90 to buds like the UE 900's all the way to my $1,500 JBL/Denon home theater I have NEVER in my ENTIRE LIFE listen to sound this beautiful, powerful, and spacious. Even the UE900 (two less drivers but still...) doesn't even come close to the TF18 I now currently own (traded the UE900's for these).

Man oh man...these are just a trip to listen with.

Anyone else feel this excited when they first got their high end IEM's? Only bad thing now is if I ever lose these or something...I know there will be no going back. Just not looking to spend $600+ in the future! tongue.gif

Sorry for your wallet as it can be a slippery slope.  My first CIEM actually didn't blow me away as much as I thought it would, but others since then have left me stunned.  If you haven't seen it, check out my reviews: http://www.head-fi.org/t/541494/

Yeah, money is a bit of an issue for me. Luckily my $100 portable amp can push these quite well and sounds great. Some of those IEM's in your review are $2000+!!! Wow...just wow.

Like I said, I know my aren't the best, but for what I got them for I am blown away. Six drivers per ear is amazing...I couldn't imagine what 8+ would sound like!

But yeah...CIEM's are amazing and I can definitely see the cost.

Oh man, this thread is killing me. I've been waiting five weeks for my customs.

It will be my first pair, despite owning roughly twelve pairs of headphones, and three sets of universal IEMs.

Yeah, I've owned countless headphones and earphones. Ranging from $5 to $500. Never have I heard anything as good as these. I mean, to my ears they simply do everything right. Sound stage, separation, frequency response, etc...just pure audio bliss.
