The AK120 is a good pairing for the SD3, taming a little bit the basse with a nice response in the rest of the frequencies :

Markus still prefer insert between the AK120 and the SD3 a RSA Hornet amp.

If you are asking for sonic changes, you will get nothing but a "LOL" from me.

so non-recessed ciem cables will fit the stagedrivers 3 iem? i have a cable that i use with my HA 8.a (will fit JH, Westone too if i'm not mistaken) that is for sale, and someone just asked me if it will fit his stagedrivers.

I tried my Westone non-recessed cable and it is a bit too wide to securely fit into the recessed socket used on the SD3.

It looks like it would be quite an easy mod to remove a bit of the plastic in order to make a non-recessed cable fit, as the pins appear to be compatible.

Did he post a Compensated or Raw frequency response chart anywhere?
Color me curious.

The SD is technically awesome. Best Soundstage, fit and comfort.

Sometimes Vocals are just a tad too warm for me. Treble is spot on, I was afraid that they could be a bit too dark for me but it actually hit my sweet spot.

Will keep them for 5 Days, maybe need some brain-burn-in.

Agreed on all counts. The boosted mid bass coloring the lower mids is only thing I think could be better.

Again, I'm back to Noozxoide Serie E on my Wolfson Note2, using the presets Bright clear + Studio give to the SD3 middles a wonderful resolution with full details and tone of voices are shouting truth, also a better soundstage with Noozxoide than with the F and the high are more present and do not tire.

The only side effect is that on some recording bass are less controled, that never the case with the F, but the benefits are here also.

The Note2 and Noozxoide remind me the flexibility that the J3 give me for changing the sound and maintaining excellent audio quality.

For me a bright DAP or AMP can be a judicious choice for the SD3, anyone for confirming that ?

Anyway Noozxoide is a great DSP for the not purist audiophile !

I can`t help thinking that once I loan my SD3`s out to Gintaras these iems will get much more attention (which is a no brainer). Not sure why I would be excited by risking damage/loss etc but it has to be done.

After Noisia I think they will safely withstand intense Madonna listening session ;)

Your doing a good thing, it's always good to have other viewpoints on earphones. I'm sure Gintaras will be impressed, Madonna or not

I`m sure somebody said he was like a virgin but I don`t believe a word of it ;-)

On a serious note, quite a scary thing to do so hats off to eke for sending his ASG2`s over to Europe.

Edit: Oh Carlsan, thanks for the Ortofon tip advice, the more open bore doesn`t only enhance the sound a little but stops the pressure build up in my right ear so no weirdness at all with them.
