Totally agree with the statement above. To OP, what on earth did you use to stain the headphone, they look like they're worth $500 plus

(PM me how did you do it, really want to do it to my own set)

just had to chime and say that the finish on those fischers look incredible. good luck with your sale.

Pardon my language but holy schit on the finish on that FA-011.

Btw what did you use to get it down to the natural wood base colour? I'm in the process of sanding mine but I think FA used some sort of dark burgundy acrylic paint or dye because even using 100 grit sand paper the stuff is hard to come off.

I used 100grit as well, just takes a lot of elbow grease; the stain was in there pretty deep. I wasn't able to completely get it out of the cups though, just enough so that the new stain was visible, so the current color is basically a mix of the old stain/dye and the new stain

So off topic but how did you sand the area near the steel mesh. Or did you take them out, if so how was it done with out bending or damage them or other parts of the headphone.

I took the mesh out. Had to cut into the glue holding them onto the cups and bend the tabs slightly to get it out

Is that the sm1 v1?

Pretty sure there is no V1/V2 for the SM1; they were introduced around the same time or after the SM2/3 V2 were. They do have a detachable cable if that's the concern.
