WA6 is pretty good with hd 800, not everyone will be satisfied though, some feel that somethings missing.

WA6-SE and WA2 are both great choices. the WA6-SE being wide and detailed, WA2 beings smooth and full. both require tube upgrades to really get the most out of them, both are great with HD 800.

WA2 is the best choice for the HD800.

I'll second that.  I really like what the WA2 does to the HD800...though I'm not articulate enough to detail what that is.

+2

it warms it up, more specifically, the sound is fuller and smoother. rather than crisp and super detailed and accurate, it becomes smoother and more rounded out, getting rid of any edge or bite the treble might have, without losing its transprency. the detail is still there, just less analytical. and the hd 800 just sounds very liquid and textured. the tone improved an the hd 800 seems much more musical. its no longer cold or analytical, but smooth and flowing.

the transparancy and detail will depend on the tubes. the lower end tubes really veil the sound at times and muddy the details and textures.

i really like how 5998 and bugle boy drivers sound with hd 800
