Hello,

I'm after a closed circum-aural set of headphones for home/dorm/on-the-go uses.

Main genres are: classical, jazz, rock and blues

After this thread, it has come down to 2 main contenders, the German Maestro 8.35D and SoundMagic HP100.

my source is either: fubar2k->fiio e7, samsung GN or cowon i7.

please help me decide!

+1 on the SoundMagic HP100. Though I don't own them, I thought they sounded better than my old Amperiors :)

i forgot to add an "other" option and it seems i can't now without removing the poll.

swiftW1nd, you said "of the two", would you recommend another headphone for these genres?

I highly recommend going through the wall of fame at inner fidelity.

Sony MDR-1R, Senn Momemtum, and UE6000 seems to be excellent in the genres you described.

The 1r for sure! They are very nice for the genres you mentioned.

bump.

i'd really appreciate it if more people would give their opinions on the matter.

i've read a few more reviews and while it seems like the hp100 might be better sounding than the 8.35d, i still can't seem to decide.

soundmagic hp100 vs sony mdr-1r vs german maestro gmp 8.35d
