I've learned the hard way that rational thought and fair debating techniques are banned here too.

Funny you should mention that, just the other day I had all of our NL8's/4's replaced with silver wrapped, gold anodized, platinum ended cables. (Invented by canadian maple monks) It's amazing the sound difference they deliver.

You don't even want to know what our XLR's are made of..

Big Daddy Weave! Wow...What's it like to work with Mr. Weaver?

Hey buddy, I just saw this thread.

I too, work in the live music industry full-time.

I've been involved in manufacturing of horn-loaded boxes, but it wasn't really my style, so I tuned new venue systems for a few years, and did some in-house.

I've been working the large-scale festivals for around four years now.

I'm mostly just a production manager these days, with a keen love for touring (hence the headphone obsession).

Good to see another one of the "noise boys" on here!

EDIT: I keep a list of (most of the) bigger artists that I've worked with over the years, if you're interested!

I've only worked a handful of their shows, but they are very nice to work with. They are touring with some interesting equipment for the size band they are. Lake processing, lab gruppen amplification, ect. They have a pretty great little setup.

Sounds a bit what I've been doing, my day job is heading up a satellite campus for a large church, but doing festivals on the side. Usually working as a sound tech/system guy. At my home venue I mix on occasion, but not as much as I have in the past.

What are sone of your highlight acts?

I'm loving this headphone forum, hifi has partially taken over my life outside of work probably because of all the ways it ties into what I do at work.

I appreciate it! I haven't tried wearing my IEM's during gigs, but I do wear the etymotic ER earplugs for sound attenuation. I usually only use ears when running monitors. Usually my se425's. sure, I could go for better ones, but they cost money;)
