I tend to prefer a darker sound for orchestral pieces because the venues I've been to generally sounded darker than neutral. The sound signature of the Vibro works, but I do wish for a little more air.

I feel like any change a recable would make wouldn't fix the resonance issues I heard. It seemed to be more of a housing issue than a sound signature issue.

Anyone had a chance to compare the ZMF x Vibro to the Enigma?

I have my pair of ZMF Master Model V1 since Monday and I like them a lot, one of the best sounding closed headphones that I've tried!

Really happy with the purchase! I was searching a good closed can for home, and I think that my search has ended!

Which model of the shure pads fit? or what would you recommend for me to stick on there myself. These ones already peel off very easliy.

Shure 840 and 1540 pads fit, as do the DT150 pads.

Also the Mr.Speakers pads: Dog and Alpha (I preferred the Dog ones).

+1 !

The 1540's have the magic that the 840's don't. And they feel nicer.

Hey Zach, are you still developing your own ear pads? It said on the website that you were making your own ZMF ear pads which was a month or so ago. I don't see it anymore however.

Well, yes and no I guess is the best answer.  At some point I would like to and hopefully will, as I have designs in place, but for the foreseeable future (not sure how long) I will be using pads made by other manufacturers as they work great sonically, visually, and comfortably.   If/when anything is imminent I'll update my website.

Well hope to see them sometime in the future! How do the 1540 pads compare sonically to the hm5 pads?

The 1540 pads are a little cleaner sounding on the top and bottom, brighter especially in the upper mids/lower treble.  Also easier to apply to the t50rp, and replace or pad swap if needed.

I've got a Vibro on its way sometime in the future, just payed last week. I'll be sure to add some comparison or impressions compared to the Alpha Dog, TH600, Signature DJ, DX1000 and W1000X. The sound of a good closed Planar with a beefier sound than the Alpha Dog instantly appealed to me - the AD is my closed go to for classical but its thinner than I tend to enjoy typically for most of my other stuff. Out of that lot overall the Sig DJ and DX1000 rules the roost for me personally - the DJ for my electronic, DX1000 just amazing for acoustic and my jazz IMO of course.
