I listened to T1 with the Naim DAC connected to an iMac: pure audio orgasm. For SS, it sounds very tube-like:
very smooth treble.

What amp did you use?

I didn't find the Naim DAC tube like at all, whatever "tube like" means... Good DAC though.

On topic warning: I want Yggi info!

In my opinion Jason will give us more information about the Yggdrasil during the next month, as the possible release of the Ragnarok approaches... Maybe he will even hint us about an eventual release date of the aforementioned DAC.

Here's a question for Jason that he may or may not have an answer for.   My speakers are fairly well known, and are rather a torture chamber for amps being as their impedance varies by frequency from 2 to 32 ohms.

So.... do you think the Ragnarok will be stable into Quad 57's?

Any word on a possible black option for the Rag/Yggi ala Uber Bifrost? That would help make a.....statement. Either way I'll be first in line for the Rag-hope you guys can still hit your December launch target.

I would not trust my cat to be in the same room as that speaker, i just know it would get the claw of death!

Quad 57 = metal grills.

No Maggies for me.

Jason-are you guys any closer to nailing down the release window for the Ragnarok this month? I'll be first in line.

Give the man a break wink.gif Dontcha know he and his team have been sweating like hobbits (shameless plug from a New Zealander) and he hasn't slept in months biggrin.giftongue.gif

With the extreme popularity of the Vali I'm guessing it's been pushed back a month or so. They are coming in on days off just to test and pack up Valis to meet demand.

I know-but he did just mention a couple of weeks ago that they were still on target for a December release date-with the caveat that the Rag is 'perfect' by then. You guys planning on getting one?

I'm hoping to demo one, while I have it for the Austin meet, if it's ready by then. Put it side by side with the GS-X, and also see how it compares in speaker duty vs my '83 Pioneer SX-9.

Good to hear-can't wait for more meet impressions. I'm mainly hoping that Jason improves/voices it slightly different than the MJ so that it suits the HD800 better. Basically I'm hoping it'll be my SS end game amp, or else I'll probably turn around and sell it and get a Master 9 and call it a day on that front. Here's hoping.

I am most interested in Yggi, quite interested in Rag sometime in the future. I've got my tube amp nailed. An matching (as in 'as good or better') SS amp seems a good idea...

Maxvla, GS-X versus Rag - now that should be an awesome contest...

I too am eagerly awaiting the Yggi more than any other dac for some strange reason. Just something eating away at me thinking Schiit's gonna change the D/A landscape with this one. Call it a hunch. Thus the Rag is a match aesthetically so it's a no-brainer. I'm also interested in a GSX/Rag shootout, but seeing as the Master 8/9 supposedly sounds nearly identical to the Headamp (as suspected)-here's hoping the Rag brings something different, or better, to the table. Aside from driving speakers. ;)
