I wholeheartedly hope that. I'm expecting the same thing for Ragnarok (given its price, I suppose it will be on par with a B22, which currently is one of the best solid state amplifiers currently available, if not the best sounds-wise).

I have to decide between keeping to build mine, or order the statement amp :).

I expect it to compete with the GSX II ... the Beta 22 was good, but I believe Schiit can, and will, do better.

Forget the GSX MKII. I suspect it will trounce a balanced Dynahi.

Ragnarok even better than a B22?

Where's my popcorn? :)

I have heard 2 and 3 board B22's and can not say I was impressed. The Audio-gd Master-6 is better than both IMO.

So I would sincerely hope the Ragnarok would be better than the B22, else I'm out

You are not alone, here.

There was a time where the b22 was best simple diy SS amp you can build for dynamic headphones suited across a wide range of loads. No longer the case, there are better out there now not for the same price mind you, it's still a very good amp for some headphones but not all. I don't understand how some people saw it as the end be all with the HD800's, definitely good with the LCD2's or low-z unobtanium Sony CD/SA series.

For some headphone the Mojo was better or on par with the b22 in some aspects, it is true price does not always necessarily mean better but since we are talking about Schiit here where there stuff does actually improve as price goes up, consider the Ragnarok better than the Mojo in some areas also being a suited jack of all trades.

Do we need a pre-amp for the Ragnarok or no? Can't tell if it is integrated or not.

No pre-amp required.

I wonder how the Ygg would stack up against something formidable like Naim DAC which I auditioned with my T1.

I listened to T1 with the Naim DAC connected to an iMac: pure audio orgasm. For SS, it sounds very tube-like:

very smooth treble.

Kinda off topic, but I've been reading the FAQ sections for the other Schiit products and is currently laughing my butt off. The Lyr one is my favorite. I just couldn't stop.

Off topic?? There's rarely a post in any Schiit thread that's ON topic. Other than the waaaaaaaaay overplayed potty jokes that got old, after say, the first Asgard thread.

On topic warning: I want Yggi info!
