It's what happened with my LCD-3, non-fazor vs fazor...

I mean how can I be certain that things are going to be stable, just like Lyr is now on v2 right now... and I have Lyr v1..

If at all, please don't make it revisions that people who buy later can have a better version, make it an upgrade-able board or something that you can install yourself... :-/

Audez'e is pretty schitty, actually. Think about the sheer number of driver failures - throughout every model. Now, they do have fantastic Customer Service.

I highly doubt Rag will be getting revisions - it's not exactly the Schiit way. This "line" has taken a really long time and for good reason, they want to get this right.

On top of this, there's probably a good chance Purrin or someone else locally credible has been helping test the amp, making sure it's 'bug' free.

As for Lyr 2, your comment is lazy. It's clear to see just how long it took Lyr to iterate to v2.

IF anything MAYBE in the coming years if the technology progresses or they learn from an integrated line or something, we'll see trickle down upgrades.

However this is their statement product, which might, possibly, be it. So...probably not? I mean, this isn't really digital, so don't expect fast movement.

Well there was that mention of a tube Rag, though that's more of a sister amp than an upgrade path.

In context of the subject matter, I should hope not!

Sorry, couldn't resist.  But as pointed out, conversational topics these days pre-release are running thin...

Well... I'm actually going to be on the early adopters list most likely.

When will the yggdrasil dac be out? Does it have preamp function or is it standalone dac?

Nothing seems to suggest Ygg will have preamp functions. You can use Rag for the preamp functions tho. :D

I'm guessing the silence signifies that something big is happening? :D

I've got another couple of questions if you can help, I think a lot of people would be able to learn from it.

First of all, can anyone please tell us why exactly the bigger amps almost always tell us their MicroFarad filter capacitance number? As in, what does it exactly do?

Second is once the Ragnarok will be out, I will be connecting it via XLR to my Vega, but I would like to know what is a good balanced interconnect that doesn't cost a fortune?

Thanks for any help :)

If you're going to be stacking them Schiit offers some shorty XLR interconnects they call Pyst: http://amzn.to/1kYNuI4

Energy is required for work to be done. Power is energy used over time. Manufacturers advertising a big capacitance in their power supplies are implying a large storage of energy (unit:joule) available for power applied by the amp (unit:watt). 1 joule used *per second* equals 1 watt of power. Without the rail voltages of the amp in question, it cannot be calculated accurately.

If you are mechanically minded like me, think of joule as torque and watt as horsepower.

or just par for the course

And for those curious, Q = 1/2 C V2 where...

Q is the energy stored (Joules)

C is the capacitance (Farads)

V is the voltage (Volts)

Assuming of course that it's the same voltage applied across all the capacitors (among a ton of other assumptions).

So would you say that more Capacitance = Better ?
