Great news! I hope Jason will confirm that.

Hmmmm.... That would only be 16 V peak... Hopefully it will do better than that.  If not, I'll have to mark it off my list of interesting amps to drive the HE-6...

So what amps are left on the list that put out more than 8W at 32ohms staying purely in class A?

Class A speaker amps.... First Watt, Krell, Pass Labs...

8W at 32ohm? Not even your F1 will do that.

"Output power 8 ohms 10 watts @ 5% THD 1KHz
Output power 4 ohms 6 watts @ 5% THD 1KHz
Output power 16 ohms 9 watts @ 5% THD 1KHz"

That's a lot of THD....

Sure it will. The F1 will do 12 W into 32 ohms and 8 into 50. Current amp, not voltage amp. Can't use the same voltage amp ratiometric relationship for transforming from one load impedance to another.

Very well, but I'm not sure why you think you need pain threshold volume on an HE-6. 8W into 50ohm is ~116dB which is just 4 dB shy of pain. Most music these days has at most 10-15dB of dynamic range, so you'd have to be listening at 100dB average to need that sort of peak. Certainly that will damage your hearing quite rapidly.

I'm not sure I see where he mentioned anything about volume levels.  Once again, it's not about how loud you can get the HE-6 to go.

I'm sorry to tell you people, based on the specs on that F1 amp posted earlier.. I think that you people like the wrong amp for the  HE-6 or the HE-6 is too bad so you have to do distortion to fix its bads... :-/

No, it's about arbitrarily determined specs. If someone really wants to run 16V signals through the HE-6 they might as well simply get a pair of bookshelf monitors and duct-tape them to their head.

The HE-6 are mini bookshelf speakers..

Even if we're talking about full power, Schiit Lyr is a tube amp, schiit claims it does 0.01% at 1V RMS, we're talking about a tube amp here where THD occurs naturally.... a quick look at F1 and F1J they do at 1W - 0.1% and 0.05% respectively.

Pretty much, yeah. Which is why you wouldn't want to wear them if you insist on running the Rag at full volume. Take off the earpads, take the capsules off the frames and space them apart. Or wait until Audeze releases their nearfield monitors.

Either way I don't see the point of listening to headphones at levels that would cause hearing damage or listening to headphones at normal levels but insisting on enough headroom that they could double as public address systems. HE-6 owners are famous for that latter sort of wankery.
