Let me tell you something, I don't know what gain the amp was set to(ARGH why didn't I ask?) but there was more than enough volume pot I am positive it can power your absurdly consumptive headphones

Haha it was more of a joke than anything, the Rag being an all in one, speakers included and all.

and, if you don't like how it sounds out of the headphone outs, i'm sure the speaker terminals will oblige.

haha figuring most people with HE-6's basically use speaker amps to power them

Man, I think this is true in all of ASEAN and South Asia. I routinely pay 30% to customs.

Did anyone just realize how big the Rag is?

I mean c'mon, in a picutre I saw it next to an Asgard or some other Schiit amp. The Asgard didn't even look close to the size of the Rag, the Rag and Ygg stacked would probably destory any desk.

I'm pretty sure I can almost answer that question just from checking out the Schiit booth at the Socal Head-fi meet. They had the HD800, LCD-XC, LCD-3(I think.. or the 2 couldn't tell), and the Alpha Dogs all around the Ragnarok which was paired with the Gungnir DAC. I listened to both the HD800 and Alpha Dogs with the Rag and they both gave me the "I'm not listening to headphones" impression as far as imagining that there is nothing separating me from the music surrounding my body.

The Alpha Dogs impressed me a lot when paired with the Rag. The texture on the mids is incredible I was hearing things I had never heard before in the song by Flock of Seagulls "I Ran(So Far Away)" in the first 40 seconds of the song.

I played this song because:

1. I am familiar with how the song sounds 2. It was on the playlist that Jason had set up for the listening booth plus it was in FLAC

Oh yeah and the Alpha Dogs and HD800 are both winners on the demo Rag  I heard : ]

Nice, thanks for your impressions!

I don't give a Schiit about how big it is, room will be made for them!

I can't wait to get the yaggy for my HE6, the Raggy will have to come later since the emotiva amp is doing just fine for now.

I'm curious to see how much of a step up the Yggdrasil is from the Gungnir. The Rags will be worth it just from the point of view of more versatility compared to the Mojo. IMO, of course.

Being the 1st of May, I was checking here and the site for availability of Ragnarok. Any updates forthcoming?

Yeah ... I was listening to some Audiogon 192/24 goodness pumping through Gungnir last night ... and fell in love with Schiit all over again! Amazing.

It will have to be something off the wall.

Eagerly awaiting when these beasts are finally released smily_headphones1.gif I'm pretty set on my alpha dogs as my endgame headphones and I'm already finding them to be pretty damn good off my Lyr, so I'm looking forward to possibly finding my endgame DAC/amp combo in the rag/ygg. The ability to drive speakers is a nice plus for the far off day I decide to "grow up" from headfi and dive down the other transducer rabbit hole.
