If they aren't... well then you're probably not going to see the Ygg for another year.

+1

This late in the game the feature set is almost certainly set in stone.

Both scenarios are fine with me.

If volume control and LVDS I2S input are not included, I'll most likely pass or wait.

If they are included, I'll be very tempted to at least audition the Ygg first release.

I got tired of waiting, pressed button on PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC MKII

anyway, I have moved to a poweramp now and if I had even waited for Ygg which does not have vol control, had to get an premap, so MKII works fine for me. it is both DAC and Premap.

Yggy is probably 6+ months out anyway. We'll be lucky if they are shipping for the holidays.

Or it'll be out when it's out.

Ideally Schiit should have announced only one or two months before release.

Jason already mentioned regretting announcing statement products when he did 2-3 years ago. If I recall correctly we've been waiting for them since 2011 or maybe earlier. I'm still just as interested in both products as I was then.

Taking a lesson from Video games, its far better to make people wait twice the time than making a game 20% worse. Im quite sure in AUDIO its even more important.

Also, I assume not everyone will blindly buy the gear but will want to audition it first.

So I can easy add another year after the gear is out before I can test it myself.

Maybe it's feasible to do two versions, standard DAC and pre-amp edition.  The latter having a lossless volume implementation, 12V trigger out to work with power amps downstream, headphone jack and enough digital inputs to serve as a true digital pre.  I'd happily pay extra for such a thing.  The money I'm saving for the Mac D100 could go in Schiit's pockets then.

+1 would be a great option alright

I don't think a DAC designed to pair with an universal integrated amp has volume control though.  :)

On the plus side that gives me time to fill a few jars with pennies, or maybe dollars would be better. A good plan B is the Gungy, plan C would be the Bifry, etc.

Can't Schiit give us an estimate so we won't be hanging in the air waiting for this stuff? I'm interested in this stack but not knowing when this is supposed to be out is making me look in other places...

I'll wait though, but an estimate would be appreciated :)
