Glad they have taken the position of the best universal! It would be great if someday you can compare the fa 4e with custom tips against your custom iems, i supect part of the great sound of the custom iems is due to the perfect fit as i feel a significant upgrade in sound between stock and custom tips

There really isn't much to complain about these other than they are pretty expensive.

I completely agree with this statement.

I personally don't know if I'd call them fun, but from memory I liked them more than the W-4, even though I thought those drivers were a bit better integrated.

That does make it tempting since they are $100 and I don't have to take another set of ear impressions since 1964 Ears already has mine from another set of customs. I'll have to see a few months later. I tend to not keep universal iems for too long since it really is hard to compete with my ciem.

These are really a fun set of iems. Last night I was going to have a short listening session before dinner that turned into a 3 hour affair and it was too late to have dinner lol. You mention about the price but that seems to be the average for a 3-4 driver iem in europe unfortunately.  The westones are certainly around that ball park figure with the 4r being a whopping £389.00  We never did get the clear out sales that the u.s did so over here it is about average (and the sd 2 is £290 and the 3 £390 for comparisons sake).

☺️

Well the first set was defective, tho I'm still a bit sad more detail wasn't given to me about exactly what was wrong. I really liked how dale posted about another earphone vs his and thought he would be more engaging with my issues but I'm provably just expecting too much(I really don't want to believe that). Music's post rings with more weight now also :/ I miss reading him. Tiny was awesome replying to this poor bloke 😊

I didn't post too much on the replacement set but I threw them out for a hopefully informative tour.

I was going to actually ask a fellow headfier to let me borrow these but I couldn't bring up the courage lol. Someone I've message during my ASG tryouts thinks they might be something I'll like.

Fun was probably a bad term to use but I meant more like something that's really enjoyable that you can just enjoy for a few hours without noticing the time.

Yes I did forget about prices in Europe being obscenely high compared to here. However that is definitely an outrageous price for the W4r. I would never touch them at that price.

I think they kind of scale well enough to keep the price. They're cheaper than the ASG-2 if I'm not mistaking. They're slightly more expensive than the other 3-4 BA's but I think they live up to that price. I tried getting in touch with Jochen Fischer but never got an answer. Will try later. Would love to organize a tour to get more impressions in.

I find myself listening to music less now. Maybe because the hunt is over for a long time. I now know what I want music to sound like. Since I'm always on the move I can't really build a home system.

Meh, they're all realistically overpriced :p

Definitely. The fact that they were supremely comfortable for me didn't hurt either.

What other iem's at this price range do you think lives up to this price? I'm not sure what the competition is at this range other than the ASG2 and the SD3. Of course I'm haven't paid much attention to universals iems in quite some time.

I've been curious about this too. Most reviews of the FA4 come out like something I would write in a review of the SM64.

Also FWIW, I've been hugely enjoying the HRT Microstreamer with the SM64. My guess is it would be a big score with the FA4 as well.

Any sound comparison for F4-4E XB ($399) against Heir 4.Ai ($399)  &  Hifiman RE-600($399)?

I'm very interested to know the detail/micro detail, sound stage/3D imaging, separation, treble (smoothness), bass (tight, punchy, deep & extend) among these 3 IEMs.
