Oh, lol sorry. I was thinking about the Aurisonic's cable. Which looks exactly the same as the FA one except that the Y-split is higher up on the FA cable. The Aurisonic cable is $36.

So I just started listening to the FA4 out of the ALO Rx mk3 paired with the Sony F807... wow do they show the benefits of amping quite well. The midrange got super fleshed out and more rich. And the soundstage opened up to another level. Thankfully hiss is not as terrible as it was when listening with the TG334.

I think this BA earphone really shows the benefit of additional driver control from amping, much more so than I remember the TG334 doing. Fun stuff. With the Rx mk3 the FA4 is so tonally right, full, detailed and spacious that I prefer it over my Mad Dog orthos even, across the board.

Yes, like EarSonics earphones, these are professional earphones, amped they are even better because they are made for this use ;-/

FA-4E + Apex Glacier is another good combo. And of course the meelec balanced tips ;)

Edit: I just have to comment on that the FA-4E are the only iems I have heard, to this day, that let me hear the music, close to 100% and not the iem. Never before have I listened and sincerely felt/thought that "this is how this song sounds" and not "this iem has great mids and bass but the treble is a bit off, do violins really sound like that?". To my ears they are so transparent it's riddiculous. The closest until the FA's were modded UE900 but they lacked bass impact and edge in guitars and strings. So they aren't close to being as "transparent" in the sense that they don't disappear sonically, they still convey their sound.

(Ofc, depending on source, tips, insertion depth and everything (cable as well Kurdt) so you may not hear exactly the same as I do.)

Somewhat cheesy punk-pop songs are so enjoyable. The thick, aggressive guitars, well textured vocals, chorus, cymbals, quick but hard hitting kicks and slammin' snare. All so good. Takes me back to being a mid teen, singing, drinking smuggled vodka and being carefree.

I've just seen today your last edit. Yeah i feel the same, my other iems always lacked something and always thought: mmm they are good but, did i really paid 400 bucks for this? come on...( it was my first thought with my very first iems shure 530 and this thought always came back with my other iems till now).

Today I'm 100% satisfied with the fa 4e sound, to me is soooooo good I don't have words, been listening to them around 4 months and never thought about upgrading and never got slightly tired of them. sound is so revealing, spacious, fun and well extended.

You said it they are ridiculous transparent and vivid as well.

Talking about  punk pop songs did you check my last you tube links in page 54? you are gonna like those albums and specially how they sound through your fischer amps.

Cheers.

I agree too- that they are 'so transparent it is ridiculous'. Very appropriate way to describe it. I'm finding them absurdly transparent in the midrange, where I'm able to understand vocals I hadn't been able to previous to the FA4. This also happened when I got the TG334... I was picking up lyrics I hadn't been able to make out prior due to artists' poor enunciation or bad recording quality. But there was still some that I couldn't pick up on. Now with the FA4, there's more yet again that I can make out for the first time. Fun stuff.

You guys better watch with these cable expenditures, soon you could have purchased another iem or a portable amp.
