Fischer Amps: FA-4 E XB - Rhapsody series (3/4/5 drivers upcoming) - Page 53

iBasso DX50 => breath because of the low impedance of FA4, but very good SQ

Fiio X3 => little aggressive especially in high mid and not as 3D and fluid than on DX50

iPhone 4S => essentiel of FA4 is here, but not as spacious as with a good amp => iPod Classic + RSA Hornet : whaou but not very usefull / iPod Classic + Pico Slim : more precise, less big and deep, but very speed.

The build quality is not so bad, pretty good in fact, but it's made by a 3D acrylic printer, also not as good as a real custom ;-/

Thanks I'll look for the ibasso dx50 then and when i want i can use it with my d4, more opinions?

The build is way better than UE900 (which is poor) but it feels less sturdy than ASG-2 which feels like you could jump on it. Still, I'm not worried at all when I use the FA's.

Thanks for the quick responses. It seems like I shouldn't be worried about build quality which is a good thing when dealing with outside of my country.

I essentially use my FA4 for street and skatepark inline-skating, so don't worry :D

Ok I just bit the bullet and bought one from thomann. It said 6-9 days so probably mid December I should get it. I do wonder about the different prices for different color but oh well. I got mine in grey. I'll be interested in how it compares to my other iem that I suspect has a similar sound in the JH5.

Congrats if you check the pfe 232 comparation it seems the pfe are way more vshaped so i guess the FA should be more balanced than the jh5

Unless I'm missing something both are within about £0.70p of each other?

I mean that JH5 is better in terms of sense of energy and musicality, but the FA4 certainly have more details, better sense of deepness, width, separation, etc, and perhaps, as Kurdt the Guru say, FA4 would be more balanced. But it's hypothesis, please tell us, it's very interesting. To my mind it lacks a real philosophy of sound behind the FA4, not a sound signature, that is well, but an approach in terms of musicality. For example, I know the EarSonics EM2pro, that have a philosophy in terms of musicality and dynamics, pleasure is extreme when you hear music with them, and I certainly have more pleasure to hear music with them than with the FA4. But, FA4 are just better in terms of details, opening soundstage, positioning, etc.

I think the FA-4E is made for everybody. That's the philosophy. Stage use, commuting, at home. Everything. And the three things that are in focus are; bass, details and anti-fatigue. That's what I would say is the philosophy behind FA-4E

Sorry I wasn't being clear. I was referring to their B stock which I found odd.

I just got a shipping notification so the wait shouldn't be too long. I would be surprised if these were better than my JH5 custom but I am welcome to be surprised. I think cn11 taking these over the 334 put me over the edge. I know our preferences differ but looks like it can still be enjoyable.

B stock is things that have been returned but are 100% functional. Same warranty and everything, only someone else's ear wax may be on them. However you are right about the colours.

Edit: The grey was (and is) 399€ when I bought. And the blue was 405€. But I like blue so I bought it.
