Fischer Amps FA-4 E XB: New 4-BA IEM From Germany - Page 58

I've seen cracked customs here so I guess anything can be broken although I have no idea how things like that break. I guess as long as you are careful it shouldn't really be that big an issue but accidents do happen and in this case thomann seems to have a good warranty.

Also looks like there will be some serious competition for time. My JH13 came back today and they fit much better than before so they are pretty much new for me. I had them for a few days before I sent it back to JH Audio. My V6 Stage is still fairly new and so is my SA7 lol. Pretty much every iem I own except the UERM is pretty new for me but I will try to use these at home since they offer the least isolation.

'cn11' should be receiving his ZX1 on Monday next week and he has the Fischers so expect(hopefully) a pleasant surprise.

Who is spreading this notice about the FA-4's being made from 3D printed acrylic plastic? I have found no communication regarding this?

SM64 or FA4 (or even ASG-2) comparisons?

What would fair better for EDM? So lost!

In page no1 you have comparations and reviews to start including with asg2 among others

I think the FA-4E would be great for EDM. Very tactile bass that's still tight and not bloated. And of course the rest of the spectrum is splendid.

In comparison the ASG-2 sounds a bit more bloated and mid bassy, could be preferred since some EDM-songs base the kicks on mid bass but I'd rather have the sub bass from FA-4E. Haven't heard the SM64.

I'm looking forward to when more receive their ZX1. However it is very promising so far. I was looking at the cheaper F886 and the HM901 as alternatives but tnot sure about the F886 when the ZX1 is out and the HM901 has horrid battery life and pretty big.

Anyway I decided to get my bag of tips out and changed to some biflange tip. It's a black colored tip and I think it's from meelectronics. It's more firm than the grey balanced tips so I get a better seal with them. I wish my SA7 and these were the same size nozzle. I think I would have gotten custom tips but unfortunately they are not and don't think it's worth getting it for just one iem.

Would definitely be interested in your take on the FA-4E should you buy it as you presented a different take on ASG-2

I've receive FA4E before few days.
I think, this is the best IEM!

Awesome!

My FA4´s are coming next week, just got the shipping notice. Really looking forward to them, they must be the least hyped IEM I´ve ever bought. Meanwhile I´ve switched to using the EX-1000 again as my main IEM. Despite its issues (treble peak, isolation) it´s still a very good IEM.

Keep the impressions coming :)

Glad you are liking the fa 4e and wellcome to the club, awesome sound! If you want to give us more detailed first impressions I'll be glad to attach them in the first post.

Moonyeol thomann sent me yesterday a new unit of the cable without paying anything althought memory wire was cutted by myself!

Rawster is there much difference between the sa7 and fa 4e nozzle? my custom tips totally fit the ex1000, fa 4e, jvc marshmellows, sony mh1c...the hole of the custom tips is usually made smaller than the original iem's nozzle diameter. You should listen to the goodnes of the fa 4e with custom silicone tips they make my sony ex 1000 and sm3 v2 sound bad hehe

Hope they arrive soon vrnl! Don't believe the hype

Im currently looking at these and a couple other IEMs as an upgrade to my um3x. Good thing is I don't have to pay taxes because I'm in Australia if I go for them. But shipping is €50 via Thomann frown.gif

I've ordered balanced silicon double tip. Hehe
I've attached my LG G2 earphone silicon tip(large size). It is also good for fa4e.

They are slightly different but the difference isn't huge. That does make it tempting since they are $100 and I don't have to take another set of ear impressions since 1964 Ears already has mine from another set of customs. I'll have to see a few months later. I tend to not keep universal iems for too long since it really is hard to compete with my ciem.

These are really a fun set of iems. Last night I was going to have a short listening session before dinner that turned into a 3 hour affair and it was too late to have dinner lol. A few years ago before I had any ciem when the W4 came out I thought those were the best universal iem's i have ever owned. I no longer have the W4 but I suspect that title may be overtaken now. They really have a nice balance without any major faults so I suspect most would not have an issue with this iem. There really isn't much to complain about these other than they are pretty expensive.
