On another note is thomann the only place to get them? Also does anyone know the price of these without the VAT? I think I read somewhere the price goes down for someone like me since I don't like in a country that pays that.

399Euros minus 19% German Vat + 50Euros postage.

The postage is a complete rip off considering the actual box is tiny and weighs nothing.

On Thomann they cost 388€ VAT included -> ~312€ without VAT !!!

My quest of eartips continues, damned ES eartips are absolutely uncomfortable  I'm going to try ATH eartips for CKM1000

Hibino HDP-R10 > FA4 => amazing

That price is for Europe only, outside Europe you pay 399Euros as I have posted above.

If you go via Thomann ? Wahou it's unfair, so you have to pay : 399+VAT+shipping ? :(

No. I think within EU you pay the right VAT and it's already shown on the site. Outside EU you don't pay VAT but instead import taxes. Am I right about this?

Yes I know it's deceptive advertising. As I have posted it's 399E(-)19% Vat +50E for shipping then converted to your local currency. Import taxes depend on you country and are then added on top. In my country of Australia we do not pay GST(VAT)

under $1000.

You are liking them after all!

At the end whithout taxes but plus 50 euros of shipping cost you will pay the same as us Cecala but with 3 years of warranty and that superb sound is a wise choice!

Kurdt-bada, I never said I dislike them, I just said they are good but not as technic as more expensive IEMs (not all) and it's particularly logic that price indicate the level of technicity. After all FA4 is now one my favorite IEM and I can say you, like Sly, that we're pretty a pain to satisfy

 sorry Sly :p

When a French admits their friendly neighbour's product is better than their own at the similar price bracket for sure it's to be great alright! :D

OMFG! Yeah

Oh men

Yes, to mind the general performance of FA4 is higher than those of SM64. But, the performance is not based on the same thing. For example, SM64 has certainly more body than the FA4, but those are more precise, extended and melodic. SM64 are not designed to be a flagship, FA4 yes, so I can imagine how both are designed for.

I personally know ES team and their work is absolutly great, with a philosophy of sound that I love, but, as Westone products, or Shure, they grow old and their price stay the same. That's why new releases are almost obviously better, that's the way of progress. Now SM64 is not old, and I don't think they are better or worst than many other IEMs, the goal of ES was not here, they just wanted an IEMs that could sound like a CIEM, and that's what they do : big sound with body. It's sound signature not general performance IMO.

Earsonics is crap the sm3v2 have an issue a fabric issue which is not covered by the warranty, the build quality is horrible and the shells after some time tend to open and you have to pay each time that **** happens about 70 euros in reparation and shipping costs.

And after all costing 350 with one year of warranry in europe! they are nowhere near as good sounding as the fa 4e, dont know the philosophy of their new products though and don't want to know it

this is fun too if you understand any word of it xD http://rinchoi.blogspot.com.es/2013/05/earsonics-sm64-electroacoustic.html

I don't want to sound rude but each time i hear earsonics i need to control myself tongue.gif

And I can understand what you mean about them, but you don't know all their firm issues, like in all firms... In France, on Tellement Nomade we all, or almost, think that JH audio is the worst quality product ever, just because two of us have had problems. But, is that entirely true that JH audio product are bad handmade ? I don't know and I'm very circonspect because I read many good feedbacks too.

The SM64 tested on the rinchoi blog was undoubtly defective. ES contacts him to send him another sample, because it was a friend sample that was tested, and in introduction it was disclaimed that he doesn't know if the SM64 was efficient ! But, he never answers, sooooo I'm very circonspect too with that insane benchmark.

Concerning the warranty, here in France, traditionally we just have 1 year warranty, but thanks to European directives we have to transpose, we normally have to apply 2 years warranty like in Germany.

The best way for constructors is to well communicate about defective products, like did Focal for example, but it's even harder to recognize his own mistake :s

That issue I'm talking about happened to most of sm3v2 users check the thread man!
All SM3v2 users don't post on Head Fi and when your product doesn't have any problem you don't post on internet to say that yours are perfect. But I completely understand your point of view, it clearly sucks that ES doesn't take it as a defect which has to be take as warranty, I would be very angry too...
