The w40 are here they fit my old shure 535 custom tips been listening to them about 20 minutes with custom tips+ibasso dx50+ ibasso d4 impressions: I'm a bit dissapointed they are very polite I clearly prefer the fa 4e... soundstage is wider, separation is better, the fischer amps are more detailed, bass is much better on the fa 4e deeper and way more powerful, highs are better and extended on the fa 4e, the fa sounds brighter, these w40 sound a bit veiled in comparation... they sound simply like a better iem not only technically they also render music  much more alive giving more satisfaction to almost every song imo

Changed to westone star tips with stock tips they don't hold a candle against the fa 4e.

I'm not saying the w40 are bad these are similar to other triple drivers iems I have tried like the um3x or sm3v2 only different sound signature more polite but similar technically.

Some people reported differences in sound between w4r and w40 anyway I'm liking them a bit more but not on par with the fa 4e imo fa bass is way better the rest is a bit closer but clearly better on the fa 4e.

Liking more and more the w40... the presentation is simply different from the fa, mids are quite warmer compared to the fischer amps. On the other side treble and bass are less extended(the fa 4e reach down low with great texture) but bass has very nice punch(not far from the fa 4e) and has very good extension too as treble which is more relaxed than the fa 4e but still very detailed with nice sparkle,  soundstage is very good as separation, clarity and detail. These are technically very good but still find the fa 4e better, the sound is more mellow and warmer but less bright and less extended.

w40 didn't impress at first listenings but sound signature is pretty solid with very few flaws they could be better but they are actually really good.

If joker rated w4(w40 supposed to be better) at 9,3 I'd rate the fa 4e around 9,5-9,6 :) Just mark that with stock tips the w40 is not as good as I reviewed above

Listening to Supercolossal by Joe Satriani on my Nexus 7 with the FA4, awesome synergy here if anyone was curious.

I'm starting to feel that the FA4's biggest strength is its midrange. I've been listening to a lot of Dresden Dolls and Trombone Shorty lately and I think the FA4s either do better with this kind of music than EDM, or they are just damn good and are showing me how much better real music is than synths and 808s, because I am really enjoying hearing real instruments on these. They aren't quite UM3X level in instrument separation but they are close, and have a much more natural presentation for sure. And the timber is amazing, the best I've heard yet, only a tiny bit thin once in a while but overall pretty awesome.

I'm definitely warming up to these babies ^_^

Thanks to my cat I need an upgrade cable for my FA-4 E XB's.. I need something that can replace the original, I am not literally looking for an "upgrade" but want them to work as they used to..

There is a bunch of cables on eBay... There are 4x and 8x's. Not sure if that really make a difference....

Advice please...

Regards..

Dogu

It's been a hard audio week for me... my arete is broken (they are going to send me a new one), my fa 4e are in the post back to germany(the right phone does not sound at all), my w40 were sent back to the seller due a broken cable conexion, my ex1000 are still in the post coming back to me, my d4 amp jack is also broken...Using the sony mh1c now but at least i pulled the trigger on the tenores hope the hype is real and my mh1c could survive till then if not I'm ****ed up also considering about quiting this hobby

I feel your pain. My DAC went out on me not too long ago and right now I'm borrowing a DAC until I can afford to buy a new one.

You got some things coming in the mail so hopefully the wait won't be too long.

What type of cable connection do these use? I'm interested in buying an aftermarket cable compatible with iPhone.
