I'm very interested in these. Couple questions. First. I live in Canada. Do they have a distribution over here in North America or do they ship from over seas ?? Second. Everyone is saying they are a more fun sounding iem and not very neutral. How will these compare to my w3 with p series complys ? I use the p series because I find it tames the bass a bit and brings the mids a little more forward giving me better detail. Will these be an upgrade to my w3's?? Thanks for your replies smily_headphones1.gif

Hey pacman as far as I know thomann will ship to Canada and Vat is deduced of the price which is pretty good deal if custom taxes are avoided.

Never heard the w3  compared to my other triple drivers models: um3x, sm3v2 and shure 535 the fa 4e are quite an upgrade.

These are fun sounding iems yes. They have +6d of sub bass boost and great treble extension but they are also ultradetailed iems with amazing separation and clarity. I would call them balanced not V shaped iems because mids are present detailed and clear as well but they are not as warm as mid centric iems.

The W3 is more fun sounding that the FA-4. The bass definitely hits much harder there than on the FA-4.

Great thank you very much. Omg I am so excited about these. I'm alway looking on the classifieds here and I never see them for sale. So Hopfully I can get them at a good price cause the shipping could be brutal. With my w3's when I use the silicone tips it gives me almost too much bass and it kinda clouds things which I hate. But when I use the comply p series tips it helps a lot to that regard. Suprissing just how much a certain tip can effect the sq that much but it does. I had the w4r and as much as I liked it I just found it too blah sometimes. Maybe if they cleared up that so called veil they have,, which I don't know why they do that,, they would be a lot better. A little off topic,, but I have a pair of denon ah-c400's and there is no veil. They are very neutral and very clear. The bass rolls off a bit too much I find but other then that very clear and transparent. I don't mind I'd these are a little u shaped as long as everyone says that the detail is there. Thank you very much for the reply. smily_headphones1.gif

I don't see the benefit of Vat deducted off the selling price as the shipping itself is 50 which ends up the same for the buyer outside Europe anyway. May even be charged custom taxes on top of that. And for paying the price of 50, the shipping is pure crap. Yes unfortunately the only place to buy them at lowest price is from Thomann. I bought the FA-4E from them since 7th March. 2 weeks later now the parcel is still not here. Seriously?? Items I bought for free shipping from UK arrived faster than the 50 for this super slow shipping for its price. Pure ripoff for something others do for free

That's odd. When I bought mine it came within a week or so. Have you followed up with them asking what's going on with your package?

That's true but if Vat wasn't deduced you'll be paying another 60-70 euros plus 50 of slow dhl shipping rip off but remember they give you 3 years of awesome warranty and 30 days for returns.

Yeah I just shot them an email as it's past the maximum 10 days shipping estimate they've given me.  Germany is much closer to US than to Australia though, so not surprised if earlier, but I paid 50 (~AUD$80) for this???

I won't even consider buying from them if they didnt deduct the Vat and still charge 50 for super slow shipping. At least it made sense to charge Vat. But for slow shipping for something so light-weighted?? I'll be damned.

Truth be told there are others here in Australia that would like to buy it but stopped short because they saw the 50 euros for shipping.

Dunno what has happened and i am pretty sure burn in can't change things that much maybe its my brain but damn with these chris himself cables in play the amps have opened up even more ! I was listening to some trace and fricking heck the soundstage and clarity i almost wanted to cry just that good :)

On a side note has anyone tried the amps with the dragonfly v1.2 ? Or maybe the meridian explorer ? I only ask because although im happy with the C5d im have a few issues when playing higher bit rates on my laptop, sometimes stops then continues not a lot but just enough to bug you  :(.

Emailed JDS Labs so helpful but looks like that cant do anything at the moment as its a rare occurrence that happens on some windows pc's.

Yesterday listening to the song attached really was amazed how good instrument separation  on the amps is, as good or may be better than the um3x but if you add a much wider stage and all that clarity and detail surrounding you...it makes the experience much more satisying. Maybe I need to try some of the cables mented as cn11 also used them with good results.
