well you own the mentor hehe... by the way how are the custom tips working with the fa and the mentor? could you add some pics of the custom tips with the fa?

Sorry for the delay. I was tired after getting home yesterday so didn't get to take a pic until now.

I might be getting another set of custom tips for the UM Mentor. I'm having trouble with tips staying on since I don't really have anything that fits that particular nozzle size. I asked if 1964 could make the tips closer to the shape of the iem so it fits better and doesn't fall off so that's definitely an option right now.

Brilliant loving the C5d great combo with the amps deepens the soundstage !!!! The adjustable bass is great when required i rarely use it although it is starting to win me over as it adds a touch of warmth without messing any of the other frequencies up. Unfortunately doesn't seem to pull the mids forward but hey at least i have reference sound now :) .Honestly great dac amp plugs straight into my laptop and iphone no problem !

174 millions of reproductions¿ omg! I don't know them

Lol i was just referring to the audio quality. hey on a different note what cables have you tried with the amps Kurdt-bada ??

Unfortunately my pair has a slight problem. There is a slight channel imbalance especially the treble which is lower  on the right side. I tried changing tips, swapping the cable around and swapping the earpieces to make sure it wasn't a problem with the seal I was getting. The issue was still there. Anyway ive sent them off to thomann for repair so ill be with out them for a while. :(

Hey I've tried 3 different cables but i like the stock better it's more durable than the others and differences are not as important, my effect studio pearl 2 do everything better in sound than the stock except the treble which is almost non-existent in that cable

Haha. Maybe it's time to extend the tip rolling a bit.

Thanks I'll hold off until the stock cables ware out . As for the tips not tried them but I'm using the sony hybrids with mine loving it. Comfort is great it seems to deepen the soundstage a tad adds a hair more detail to the sound as well to my ear... It is worth mentioning though on certain tracks these tips seems to pull out a bit of siblance

I'm usually not the biggest fan of the sony hybrids. For some reason on almost every iem I have tried in the past they add more bass and make it a bit boomy. It's usually very comfortable so I guess that's the tradeoff you get with them. The ortofon tips were pretty nice although a bit pricey.

I'm pretty set in my FA-4. I have a Silver Poison cable and custom tips on them. I just have to get used to removing the tips without having it separate from the iem.

I find them comfortable. Bassy. A bit edgy. Bring out the upper mids quite well but they seriously congest the sound. Making it more directed towards the ear drums in a sense. The FR is pretty pleasant and fun but the ambiance is kind of killed off to me. About the same with the UE900 as well.

Rawster it's a bit silly question considering the price difference but which do you prefer as universal iem the mentor or the fa 4e+custom tips+custom cable?

Guys you should try the sensorcom double flange tips while bass is decreased, clarity and treble are remarcable I still prefer the sound of custom tips but not by much, I've also tried the sony hybrids from my ex1000 but the treble sounded harsh and detail and clarity aren't on par with sensorcom tips which overall sound much better imo
