these things are brand new from Amazon, and already I hear rattling in the right ear from low frequencies. anyone else experience this? such an extreme disappointment

and yes, I've tried multiple sources

f*** you, Audio Technica. thanks for nothing

Don't blame audio Technica! Its simply a defect. Return them and try again. Notice how no one else has this problem? Unless of course they have the defect. All products suspect to it.

well now the M-Audio Q40 and ATH-M50 have both failed me. what's next for a bassy hip-hop lover like myself?

Audio Technica ATH WS99. Though you may be boycotting AT tongue.gif.

Philips Fidelio L1's great too.

These are major upgrade from the m50.

I don't know why you went with the M50 if you want a bassy headphone for hiphop. My guess is you probably got some bad advice from some audiophile who don't listen to bassy music and/or hiphop.

If hiphop is all you listen to than grab yourself a V-Moda Crossfade LP2.

AT Pro700mkII is also have a very nice bass, better mids and high than m50.

Rap and hip hop aren't all about bass...contrary to some head-fi'er belief. ATH WS99 is the way to go.

Are you listening to good quality music?

Mine sounded nothing like that. On some songs which emphasize bass however there was that "rattling". It's an audio signal though. Best way I can describe it is by listening to the intro to Slam by Pendulum. At first I thought something was wrong but they were intentionally going for that subwoofer feel

I listen to my music at no less than 320kbps. usually FLAC or CD. it's definitely the headphones. SO FRUSTRATING
