Listening to the MDs 3.0 on my NFB-27 now (SE): very good pairing indeed!
I stand by my word, the NFB-10ES2 should a very good combo together with the balanced dogs!

Back to Telegraph road now, Dire Straits sound superb on the MDs...

Wow.

They feel -amazing- compared to stock pads.

I think they might have recessed the treble a bit, but everything sounds great.

However, I noticed my drivers -and- the pads are angled; is this alright, or should I look into other pads?

I mean, when it's all said and done, the personal enjoyment matters most, and I don't really have a problem with this, but would other pads be "better" or is the double angled not an issue?

try placing the thicker part of the pad to the front... to cancel out the double angling...?  rolleyes.gif

I might be picking up the new V-Moda VTF BoomPro cable for use with my headphones. Since I use the V-Moda cable that came included with my headphone the 45° side sits comfortably in the headphone. However, I can't use the BoomPro "backwards" like I do with the included cable. So has anyone come across a quality 90° adapter that works well with the MDs and I can use with the new cable?

Well, hardly a rumor.  Smeggy had a well documented wood cup mod, and many others had done other things that were interesting.  I thought it would be interesting to give it a shot because people were having demonstrable success...

I don't think talk of the alpha pads is off-topic at all.  It fully has to do with the mad dogs themselves.  While we're on critique, I did mention that the mad dogs would possibly benefit if you used black screws instead of silver to attach the comfort strap, and filed down the 'lock' over the cable jack on the side.

Just throwing suggestions out there.

I only borrowed the mad dogs for a couple days, so I don't need a solution really.  Thanks though.

So what's in store for Mad Dog rev. 3.3. I honestly couldn't think of anything to improve (other than black headband screw)

Also any plans for the future of the Mr.Speakers brand in general. Perhaps add another headphone model, or a more extensive modification like the Smeggy Thunderpants

Sorry, we don't discuss futures. I will say we are very happy with 3.2 and not trying to update it.

So.... The fidelio X1 were not really as good as I was expecting.... Now the question is, do I get the good ol' HD600 which I already know I like (except the lack of sub bass and slightly slow sound) or do I try the Mad Dogs.... Hmmmmm decisions. I do think the soundstage on the HD600 is just awesome and I do not want anything with a small soundstage.... Are the mad dogs bad in this area?

The Mad Dogs are simply not bad in any area.  Soundstage is such a subjective attribute for headphones.  Closed headphones typically have what most consider to be inferior soundstage to that of most open headphones.  Lots of people have commented about the Mad Dogs and compared the soundstage favorably for closed cans.
