Would you say the Pro has more or less treble as the 3.2? The addition of the doggie treats to the Pro is why I'm asking.

Thanks!

It has a little less, but you can do this with the Mad Dog by adding the treats.  You can literally match the frequency response that way.  What you can't match is that the Pro has a more rigid baffle, which opens up the soundstage and increases detail (without brightness).

From trade shows and meets, I've found most people prefer the Pro, but there are people who prefer a more intimate sound with less soundstage, and for them the Mad Dog with treats may provide a better fit.

Hope that's not maddeningly unhelpful.

Thanks for the reply, no that answered my question. Really want to upgrade to the Pro, but I think I'd prefer it without the treats to keep the treble response the same as the Mad Dog. Maybe I'm just way over thinking this though

Well, you can always open them up and mess around with the 'treats'. They're meant to be easily accessed by the user.

Thanks guys!

Based off the advice given, I've decided to go with just the doggie treats upgrade.

I'll report my bass-findings back here!

Has anybdoy ran these headphones with a DX90? In the DX90 thread someone suggests the amp maybe isnt powerful enough to really drive these phones?

If not what would be a good amp to pair with the DX90 and a pair of Mad Dog phones? Im looking at getting a new DAP and need some suggestions in these areas

I use DX50 with Mad Dogs. DX50 has a much weaker amplifier than DX90 as I've heard. For my taste it is loud enough even on the DX50. I sometimes like to listen only 1 track louder than regularly and it even serves for that, but I then put it to maximum volumen.

After years of not being on Head fi I decided to get back into it by buying some MAD DOGS! Other than the slappa, what is a decent case for these headphones to keep around my desk?
