My instinct is that silver isn't the right kind of product for us.  We're really about value and quality.  Probably silver is best for third party vendors.  If you want to pursue some of the cable guys and they need any pinouts or parts sources they can contact me.  I'll post the relevant info on the site next week when the cable options go up.

The new balanced option comes with a really nice twisted copper cable. It sounds wonderful. I have a few impressions I'll try and post tonight when I get to a computer. Long posts and iPhones are not a good mix...

My Mad Dog headphones arrived today and I must say that I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I paid for the cheapest shipping and they arrived in four days from across the country!

They are an excellent upgrade to the beats by dr. dre which I was unfortunately using prior to these arriving. These are very neutral and open sounding and the lower end is not as muddy as the beats. I am expecting the bifrost and lyr from Schiit to arrive some time next week so I will post my impression of that setup soon. At the moment I am currently driving them out of a Asus Xonar Essence ST and they sound pretty good.

These are great bang for the buck headphones and I recommend them to anyone looking for a pair of budget cans.

I don't know what you're using now for an amp/dac but I imagine you're about to be a little more satisfied. wink.gif

The Asus Xonar Essence ST is all I have at the moment

The site is undergoing an outage.  We expect it'll be about an hour before we're online.

EDIT: Back online.  Ouch.

Never been so happy with a pair of headphones! Replaced my HD 650 and HE 500 out of the pure convenience of sounding this good as a closed phone, and replaced my ATH W3000anv with those sweet vocals and sub bass. Running them out of the iBasso D6 was a revelation.

Right? Am I crazy? I still think the W3000anv are one of the most FUN and PLEASING headphones to listen to, but the MadDogs are the closest I have come to being an all-rounder. And at a third of the price hahah

Regarding the new "front-facing jack" of the balanced mad dog, does it fit other after-market cables ?

No, that is a different connector.  Unfortunately, there's no standard, but the cables makers can easily get this part...

I have a couple of questions to ask. If I choose Mad Dog with balanced ouput with 3.5mm or 1/4 single-ended, I can use the Mad Dog with normal ampli such as O2, C421, C5, right? And in the future when I want to purchase a new balanced headphone ampli such as Schiit, I can also order a new balanced cable such as a 4-pins Male XLR connector and use them together. Am I right?

So, will there be a premium single ended cable available if you have the new connector set up? Something like the twisted copper balanced cable but with a premium plug like Nutrick>
