submitted my order for some balanced Mad Dogs this weekend.  the wait is killing me...  After the Alpha dog announcement, i'm glad to see that one can upgrade their MD to AD.  Needless to say, from a customer's perspective, i'm impressed.  Now all i need is a solo -db, anyone selling theirs tongue.gif

Which mod are you planning to do? BMF?

(you know that just putting on Alpha Pads and the leather headband does not convert the T50RPs to Mad Dogs right? ;-)  MrSpeakers Mods are NOT public as far as I know...)

Yes you do!

(that's if you want the "MrSpeakers tuning" on your T50RPs... but if you want to go the "do-it-yourself" way, there's a couple of ways you can go based on the link I posted above.)

Good luck.

Yup! The ones w/ the white stickers on the side are the most recent. To be sure, if the seller has the receipt, the 3.2 started shipping on April 13.

I run a set of modified T50RP headphones that are similar to the Mad Dogs and they work fine with the Aune T1 in the mid gain position so there's lots of headroom.

Just had a quick listen and the sound is a lot lot Warmer than my HE500s. Is this normal? Do I have to get used to the sound?

There might also be a tiny removable sticker stating "3.2" on the underside of the leather comfort strap. It could be removed easily, so it might not be there anyway.

Underside as in between the original Fostex headband, and the leather strap.

No sticker on mine so might have fallen off

The MDs are certainly darker headphones. This enhances the focus on the lower end of the spectrum, where the warmth resides.
It has thicker mids too (at least the 3.0).

It is not as lush/wet as the HE-500, so IMO, the latter are the warmer.
YMMV.

3.2 definitely made the sound less dark by increasing the relative presence of the upper mids, it also brought the lower bass more forward to better integrate with the upper bass.

My mad dogs sound great now. It was a matter of getting used to the different sound signatures from the HE500s. I'm loving them and these may be my portables when I'm not using my IEMs.

At first that warm sound made me think it was muddy. But that's gone now
